Pictou May 16, 2015 11:22:21 AM Entry ID: 2063935 | Just a thought on the idea of having a Cape Breton team in the league. From a representation of Nova Scotia perspective it would be awesome as it would be more exposure for the League. I understand the travel thing so here's an idea. What about making it a 4 game weekend? One year have the CB team travel to Yarmouth for a 4 game weekend and the next year have Yarmouth travel to CB for 4 games. It would mean only one trip every two years. I know I would much prefer traveling for a 4 game weekend if I had to drive 6+ hours than possibly driving 6 hours there, playing 14 innings and driving 6 hours back. Also, make the games on the Victoria game weekend if you can so that you have that extra day for travel so people aren't completely zonked on Monday. Overnight trips are great bonding experiences for teams. |
Admin May 8, 2015 12:05:42 PM Entry ID: 2063662 | Hey guys, who ever is responsible for your teams stats or roster will need to sign in and input your roster for the 2015 season. Rosters don't carry over from last year. If your not sure what your login is txt or email me. |
Paul Macdonald May 7, 2015 10:13:13 PM Entry ID: 2063647 | Guys like I said earlier I didn't mean to cause anything, it's none of my business who you accept into your league. I wish your league all the best |
Admin May 7, 2015 1:25:11 PM Entry ID: 2063640 | I don't think Yarmouth would enjoy going to Cape Breton for "2" 7 inning ball games nor would Cape Breton enjoy the trip to Yarmouth for the same. Sorry I should say I know there are guys that would rather not make that trip and some would enjoy it. It doesn't make sense financially in my opinion unless it was a 4 game weekend. It's not a slight towards Cape Breton its self more just the distance. Keep pushing it though things change every year. It does make sense for the league to allow another Pictou area team in the league I'm sure you can see why. |

Sheaves PC May 6, 2015 3:34:04 PM Entry ID: 2063599 | Hey Paul i'm not entirely sure about our torney yet. We usually contact the teams that come every year first. But no one has comitted yet beside Eastern Passage who would probably just show up anyway even if they weren't invited haha. There is a new guy running the Albions this year so we will have chat about it and let you know. It would probably be a good thing to get some Cape Bretoners in there to blow up our beer tent |
Paul Macdonald Sydney Mines May 6, 2015 11:56:12 AM Entry ID: 2063594 | Thanks Sheaves, I didn't post my concern to ruffel any feathers but maybe for next season it can be looked into more. Is there any openings for your annual tournament |
Sheaves PC May 6, 2015 10:39:52 AM Entry ID: 2063590 | Hey Paul, Overnight trip to Cape Breaton sounds like a fantastic idea to me, and i know the Albions would love it. Casino, booze and bars, you got it all. You guys being to far away wouldn't be a good enough excuse for me either. There may be a bit more to it then that. Yarmouth is in the league and you can't get much farther then that. |
Paul Macdonald Sydney Mines May 5, 2015 4:13:14 PM Entry ID: 2063567 | Don't get me wrong by this post , I really enjoy keeping up to date on your league. With that said I see you have taken another new team to your league, the problem I have is the name of your league Nova Scotia Intermediate League. How can it be called a Nova Scotia league when a team from Cape Breton can't get in your league, we expressed interest at the end of last season and were told by your president that nobody wanted us because we are to far away That's unfortunate but I will still follow your league as I have in the past and will do so in the future. Than You |

Admin April 27, 2015 12:16:33 PM Entry ID: 2063268 | Hey Keith, Based on years past the league championship has been the weekend before Provincials. Provincials are always labour day weekend which is Sept 4th to the 7th, in this case we have up until the 23rd for league games which leaves the following weekend for the league tourney. We have had in the past an extra weekend at the end for make up games. This year with 8 teams and 2 of them using the same field and other teams needing certain weekends off and some teams only play on Sundays, also this year Yarmouth is Hosting Old timer Nationals so they want as few games as possible scheduled that weekend also. I m giving the schedule one more look over and I hope its good. |
Keith Nickerson April 23, 2015 3:10:13 PM Entry ID: 2063146 | Hey all, justr wondering when the league tournament is this year in August ... I originally had the 23rd written down but I see there are league games right up to the 23rd... Thanks, Keith |
Admin April 22, 2015 2:24:48 PM Entry ID: 2063117 | I think the schedule is done, Please everyone take a look at it and go over it a couple times. There are a couple double header weekends for most teams, if they don't work you can reschedule them during the week if possible. This was a new way I made up the schedule. Any issues let me know. Yeah I did start the weekend of may 23rd, because of time we have to be done by August 23rd I believe it is. For Pictou you guys can reschedule your games with each other during the week, I didn't have field times so I just scheduled you in on weekends but you can free up weekends by playing during the week which you may have to do with rain outs. I hope we get off on the first weekend. If you're hosting and you think you can't maybe check with the team you playing and see if you can just switch home dates. Email me any changes clcb@eastlink.ca |

Admin April 21, 2015 12:20:46 PM Entry ID: 2063069 | Hey guys, im messing with the schedule, and you'll notice some teams are one some are not. THESE ARE NOT SET IN STONE, THERE WILL BE CHANGES TO ALL OF THEM. Im doing it this way just so I can get it started. |
Admin April 15, 2015 11:44:48 PM Entry ID: 2062933 | Welcome aboard to the new Pictou crew, good luck. I'll get your site password and stuff set up soon. I'll get at this website and clean it up a bit here soon, we need to get that trash off the welcome page. Good luck to all the teams this season. If you have any questions or issues you can email me at clcb@eastlink.ca or txt/call me. |

Gateway #3 October 3, 2014 1:37:21 PM Entry ID: 2058867 | Well boys its been a blast or at least it was a blast. I have decided to not make a come back. I went back to the Hip Specialist and we did a new X-ray and honestly the x-ray showed no noticeable improvements, I only have better movement and flexibility and i am down to probably a 2 out of 10 on a pain scale. So with that my hip didn't get worse either so I am now off of the replacement list, however he thinks he will be seeing me sooner than later. On this note I'm handing in my uniform and moving on too not sure what. I have no regrets I loved every second of playing in the league and I obviously loved the on-field battles with everyone, but most of all with PICTOU, you guys always got my best. I wish everyone nothing but the best in the future and I hope the league is around for another 30 years. Always remember the game your playing could be your last. "Don't take it for granted" |

Maccan September 1, 2014 7:29:20 PM Entry ID: 2058002 | Congratulations to Noel Road for winning the Intermediate AAA Provincial Championship. Dave, you sure laid a good foundation before you retired. Also, congratulations to Shelburne, you went 4-0 in the round robin and finished second in the province. |
Higgins September 1, 2014 5:51:06 PM Entry ID: 2057999 | Congrats to all the Noel Road boys and I'm betting Mr. Wiseman is pretty proud of the boys these last few weeks looks like he got them on the right path. Gonna be a good team for a long time. |

Dartmouth September 1, 2014 5:45:08 PM Entry ID: 2057998 | Josh and his brother Nick played for HP last year some, but only saw Josh with them once this year. Didn't see them this weekend. I coached them both in Midget and they are definitely great players. There are lots of good ideas out there for getting a sustainable and fair "Provincials" set up going. Something that makes the reg season important so makeups get played, and makes teams earn their classification to some extent without the # of teams at any level being too big. It will take some compromise between leagues, and maybe a year or two of fine tuning, but both leagues are organized enough to get something good done. Congrats to Noel on the win and HP for runner-up. |
