It wasnt till the next year that I realized that was the biggest mistake I made. Since being in fast lane Coach Walker has taught me what it really takes to be the runner that I am and prepared me for my collegiate years immensely. I am now a graduate of Alabama State University, running all four years. Won various MVP titles and SWAC Championships and Im on my way to Colorado nextfor grad school. My advice to the upcoming fast lane fam....start early and really listen to Coach advice he's really there to help you and welcome to the tight niche fam we really do love each other and are a family away from fam! |

They have helped mold me into the person i am today and get me where i am. I am so blessed and grateful to have them and the fastlane family by my side as i am in college. I didn't even think i had the ability to attend a D1 college or even have a possibility of graduating from one. Being in college has shown me a lot and that if i want to succeed I have to get my head in school and stay focus. Through all of my struggles and road blocks the support from my family, coach walker and oscar, and my fastlane family has made this journey worth it. I love you guys for being there for me when i didn't want to admit it. I know things can get hard out there, but just like how ever one is there for me, I am here for you guys as well. <3 |

West Point, NY June 28, 2012 10:30:48 AM Entry ID: 1976728 | Where do I begin? I was one of the original Fast Lane members about 6 years ago, heading into my freshman year of high school. I was a soccer player who always wanted a soccer scholarship and never even thought about running College track. Then I got injured playing soccer my sophomore year and Coach Walker was in the emergency room that night telling me that everything would be OK. Now I just finished my Freshman year of college track. It didn't go exactly how I planned it. I had a few minor injuries here and there, but now I know what it will take to succeed on the Division one level next year. I choose my school more for the education than the quality of the team, and at this point I'm getting paid to go to school, receive an education, and run track representing the US ARMY. Track and Field has set me up to have a job doing something I want to do, and to be successful as an Army Officer. (( GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!)) |

I'm delighted to announce that I've completed my undergrad successfully while receiving my Bachelor of Science degree. In addition, I broke two personal records in the 100m and triple-jump this past season although I encountered three hamstring injuries. I decided to rest this summer 2012 in order to recover and return in a healthy state when I begin training again in August. Although many of you put a lot of time on the track, you also need to put that same amount of time into your studies! Obtaining knowledge, your diploma & degrees is the best feeling and absolutely the greatest similar to achieving your goals and obtaining your medals on the track! Go forward! Work hard & be positive! Remember, the world owes you nothing because the world was here before you... Stay encouraged! I wish you all nothing but the best on your future endeavors! I can honestly say that Fast Lane track practice is what I look forward to every day at 5:30. Coach Walker is one of those coaches that you can call a friend or second father. He's always there for you no matter what the situation and he truly is there to help you succeed, whether it has to do with track or not. I've gotten SO much closer with my team and I enjoy being around my Fast Lane fam. I cannot wait for the rest of the summer and upcoming years with everyone! Love you guys! |

I Have been Running For Last Lane About 2 years now and each year I have became stronger & stronger ! I Remeber It like yesterday before I joined Fast Lane I use to run for my Middle School Called Emerald Cove . yes I was Good but it was this one girl use to always beat me by a second ,A Head ,A Foot ,Or anything that's when I joined Fast Lane to Become Better I went out with coach walker and worked my heart out . From where I started from I have came a long ways ! I was out a While from a Leg injury but I still remain to come back stronger then before because my Coach Always Says it's HARD but it's FAIR ! He teaches us more than just how to run and win medals, which is nice of course, but also how to better ourselves an give back to our communities. Through fundraisers and practice, we all recieve the opportunity to get to know eachother and work together. Coach Walker has a firm belief in teamwork and having us work for the things we want to accomplish in life. He works us hard, but it's always fair! I love my team and I appreciate everything Coach Walker and his family have done for me. :) |

I never knew that I can run a mile but I was thought .when I first learned to jump I didn't even jukp as far as a 8th grader. But now as a fresham I jumped 15.8 and long jump and I went 36.11inches and triple all because of my coach derek walker . I love him so much if it wasn't from him I wouldn't knew nothing I probably would still been the same but my coach had faith and me to belieev that I can do anything when no one else did ...ps I love you coach |

I ran AAU , unattached & this is my second and final year of running/jumping at a collegiate level at Nova Southeastern University . Over the years , I've learned the value of hard work pays off while being a member of the fast lane family ! After many accomplishments such as , qualifying for Nationals in two events (long-jump & 4x100m relay) last year , I have a strong belief in this value . Fast lane track club gives individuals the opportunity to develop fundamental skills & self-esteem in order for them to achieve their personal goals in life .
