He teaches us more than just how to run and win medals, which is nice of course, but also how to better ourselves an give back to our communities. Through fundraisers and practice, we all recieve the opportunity to get to know eachother and work together. Coach Walker has a firm belief in teamwork and having us work for the things we want to accomplish in life. He works us hard, but it's always fair! I love my team and I appreciate everything Coach Walker and his family have done for me. :) |

I never knew that I can run a mile but I was thought .when I first learned to jump I didn't even jukp as far as a 8th grader. But now as a fresham I jumped 15.8 and long jump and I went 36.11inches and triple all because of my coach derek walker . I love him so much if it wasn't from him I wouldn't knew nothing I probably would still been the same but my coach had faith and me to belieev that I can do anything when no one else did ...ps I love you coach |

I ran AAU , unattached & this is my second and final year of running/jumping at a collegiate level at Nova Southeastern University . Over the years , I've learned the value of hard work pays off while being a member of the fast lane family ! After many accomplishments such as , qualifying for Nationals in two events (long-jump & 4x100m relay) last year , I have a strong belief in this value . Fast lane track club gives individuals the opportunity to develop fundamental skills & self-esteem in order for them to achieve their personal goals in life . I feel that Coach Walker and all staff of Fast Lane has been a blessing in my life. I never thought I would be in college on a track scholarship ,but coach Walker does all he can to make sure all his children make it in life. I know time went by so fast. I am still at Mount Olive College. I cant believe how much the fast lane family has grown , we everywhere all around. I just want to say I'm proud of everyone keep working hard. Word of advice DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND TALK TO YOU TEACHERS COLLEGE KIDS!!!....Most of all I would like to thank coach walker for setting the foundation and teaching he gave us, and the vision he saw even when we didn't. Everybody i talk to about our club up here and coach walker they say " Man i wish i was able to work with him" I'm proud to be apart of the fast lane family. Throughout the years i always had the support of my coaches and teammates. I remember sophomore year when i broke my leg, coach walker was in the emergency room that night telling me that it will be all ok and i will run my time again. Through hard work and training i'm now competing at the division 1 level and representing the US ARMY on the track (go army! beat navy!) and am attending the number one public school in the nation! Without all the support i would not see my self at west point today. |

Track was just something I loved doing and I always thought "after high school, track is over for me. I'll never make it to college". Then I started working with Derek Walker. I started off as a 29 foot jumper barely placing 4th in any meet. With hard work, determination, and courage, Coach Walker nourished me into believing I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me. Now I'm not here to preach but God put Coach Walker into my life for a reason. By senior year, I was a progress-hungry triple jumper who would do anything to win the state title. Though I didn't win states, I won something else. I got a PR of 39'11 at my regional track meet and was ranked 2nd in the state of Florida. Later that summer, I signed with the University Of Florida. That, in itself, was enough for me. I would like to take the time to say Thank you to Coach Walker, Mrs. Alina Walker, Coach Robinson, the Stallworth family, and the Ford family for helping me get to where I'm at now. And to my Fastlane family, having you all in my life is truly a blessing and I will forever enjoy every minute of being with y'all. - "Big Pun" |

I got the chance to compete in JuCo Indoor & Outdoor National Championships and Signed to a Division 1 College(Auburn). I PR'D in the 100m Dash with the time of 10.08w and Ran on a World Ranking 4x100m Relay(39.19). I hurt my hamstring at the end of the season which forced me to stop Competing Missing out on the USA Track & Field Championships. I spent alot of time in my home town, where I got Nothing but love from my Friends & Family. I got the chance to catch up with the Fast Lane Family and Had a Blast spending time with Them. I See So Much Talent In the New Generation Of Fast Lane Athletes. I Love and Miss Everyone and Look Forward hearing Nothing But the Best From Yall. "J" |

Dee-Dee you constantly check in letting everyone know how you're doing and even showing your support for your teammates even though you are states away. That's a great quality you have. Always remember those who have your back rather you are on top or at the bottom of the barrel. You have don that, and I commend you. Well, summer is just around the corner... state is also coming up... the same day high school have state, Erin "TURBO" will be competing in the middle school state championships 20 minutes away. She qualified in the 100, 200 and the 400. Good luck to the high schoolers as well as my "TURBO", and I look forward to seeing all of you this summer. Bring your A game. We want folks to know what we got in PBC. |

We learned a lot all of us who went . WE meet dennis mitchel ,jackie joyner k , the best part . WE learned how to come out the blocks , technique , explosiveness , and much much more .
