Bayonne June 23, 2008 12:07:09 AM Entry ID: 1407873 | Congrats to Big Apple the Rookie League champs of 2008. A terrific bunch of kids who played as a team, and every time the kids backs were to the wall, they showed what they were made of by coming through time and time again. Congrats also to the terrific coaching staff led by one of the greatest managers of all time, Joe Malinconco. His soft spoken, positive approach with the kids is so refreshing these days, it's no wonder his teams have won 6 championships in 11 years. We will see ya at the Big Show (awards dinner on Friday/ November 14th). Congrats to Mark Sports for a fantastic game today & stellar season as well. |

Bayonne June 22, 2008 10:55:36 PM Entry ID: 1407851 | Whew....I'm tired!! I want to start off by congratulating the 2008 Big Apple Rookie League Champions. All of our hard work throughout the year has finally paid off! Here is proof that when you work hard at something, you can achieve almost anything. To my fellow coaches, I thank you for your patience as well as your support. A very special thanks to Coach Joe and Coach Dave. From day one, you treated my son as if he was one of your own. Now he is ready to move on to the next level in baseball and because of you, he is better prepared today. Again, I sincerely thank you for that. To Mark's Sports, it's a shame that one of us had to lose. What a great group of kids! I have alot of admiration for that team. To Coach Gerard, you are a great coach and an even greater individual much respect from me. As I had stated earlier, it's a shame that one of us had to be on the losing side today big guy! For what it's worth, you and your staff (Rich, Tom, Mike and Rob) are a great group and winners as well for how far you have taken your team! In conclusion, I would like to thank all of the Big Apple Parents. None of this is possible without your time and effort in getting your kids to each practice and game. In the beginning of the year we set out to reach the ultimate goal and now we can honestly say we did it. Thank you...much appreciated. |

Bayonne June 18, 2008 10:42:06 PM Entry ID: 1405932 | I just want to take this opportunity to speak on what this guestbook should really be about.....as Bobby D. would say "Freakin' Bayonne Cal Ripken Baseball". I am a coach on Big Apple (Rookie League)and I am fortunate to be a part of (and witness) a great game that was just played earlier tonight (Big Apple vs. Dr G's Mets). Fortunately for me, my team was on the winning side of the game but as far as I am concerned, everyone was a winner. Both teams battled hard throughout and there was no quit; the game was a nail-biter even up until the final out was made. That's the beauty of baseball. To Mike Miselis, you are a class act and your team is a spitting image of you. Your kids just did not want to give up. Guys like you are a big part of this great organization/league. Good Luck in the All-Star Tournaments up ahead....Getting back to baseball, now we have the opportunity to play in the Championship Game against either Mark Sports or Valley National. Either team will be a battle. Good Luck and to whomever we face on Sunday, may the best team win!! Let's Go Golden Apples!! (Our Team Motto) |
