Highlights FromThe Past
1990 : Brunswick captures the Blue Ridge Title in their inaugural season. The Orioles down the Martinsburg Blue Sox by a score of 3-2 Roger Dawsons' 3 rbi triple in the bottom of the 6th proved to be the difference. Jody Pearrell picked up the victory off the mound, and Roger Dawson was declared the Blue Ridge M.V.P.
1991 : Dave Dinges slammed a 2 run homer with the Orioles down against the Martinsburg Blue Sox in the championship bout of the Blue Ridge League tournament. Dinges blast gave the Birds their 1st lead of the game. The next inning Robby Dawson slammed a 2 run homer over the scoreboard in leftfield to put another championship in Smoketown. Dinges and Dawsons shots were two of the most memorable in Oriole history with Rusty Potts picking up the victory on the mound.

1992 : Jeff Simons smacks 4 consecutive homeruns in a row. Simons hits two long balls at Brunswick High School and two nights later hits two bombs in his 1st two at bats at Loats Field in Frederick. This feat has never been duplicated by any Oriole.
1993 : Oriole righthanded pitcher Joey Lucas threw a no hit shutout vs the Shippensburg Stars to be the 1st Oriole to accomplish this feat. Lucas garnered 17 strikeouts in the 7 inning affair.
1994 : Hendersonville N.C. native Joey Rhodes playing for the summer with Brunswick is signed to a free agency contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Oriole scout Jim Gilbert signed Rhodes after striking out 13 in 5 innings vs. the Boonsboro Ravens.
1995 : Kevin Breckinridge smashed a 3 run bomb in the top of the 7th with Brunswick down by a run,in Game 6 of the Blue Ridge Championship series vs. the Hagerstown Braves.Breckinridges shot proved to be enough as the Orioles picked up their 3rd Blue Ridge title in their 6 year existence.
1996 : John Fowler hits back to back 500ft. plus homeruns in the Harrisburg 4th of July tournament.Fowlers in human shots are still talked about in New Cumberland Pa.
Doug Stottlemyer breaks the Blue Ridge record for RBI'S in a game with 13. Stottlemyer collected two grand slams, a three run homer, and a two RBI double.

2001 : The Orioles win 3 major championships 1). The Blue Ridge Title,2). The Md. State Semi Pro Title, 3). The Grover Frye Mem. Tournament Title.
2002 : Scott Frye pitches a four hitter vs. the Md. Orioles an 18-22 National powerhouse team comprised of elite Div 1 players.Frye sat down 11 hitters by the way of the strikeout. Baltimore Oriole scout Dean Albany said Frye should be pitching at the double ,or triple A Level.
2003 : The Orioles bring home plenty of hardware, capturing the 2003 Blue Ridge Title,MD. State Title, Runner up in the NABF Mid Atlantic Regional,and 3rd place in the Grover Frye Memorial Tournament.Kevin Goode goes unconscious with the bat in Ohio (NABF Mid Atlantic Regional)hitting .545 with 16 RBI and an amazing 6 homeruns in 6 games. Gerrad Talkington has one of the most amazing at bats ever for an Oriole. In game 4 of the championship series and Brunswick leading the series 3-0,Talkington stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and a man on 1st and Brunswick down 2-1. Talkington smashed the 1-1 offering from Hagerstown veteran Nate Reeser off the left field foul pole for a walk off homerun and gave Brunswick a four game sweep of its Blue Ridge rivals.Wayne Toms goes 3-4 in the State Title matchup with Tri State to become the 2003 Md. State tournament MVP.
2004 : The Orioles hit their all time high. Not only do the Bird's capture their second consecutive Blue Ridge Title and Regular season Title, but they put the city of Brunswick on the map by capturing the NABF World Series championship.Brunswick 1st captured the Eastern Regional in Youngstown Ohio,then traveled to Louisville Kentucky to garner the most meaningful trophy that an amateur team can attain.Andy Maught had an incredible tournament with the bat and was chosen as the World Series MVP. The O'S had many 1st this season. They finished with the best record ever in the BRAL at 28-2. They were the 1st team in Maryland in the NABF'S 90 year history to win the World Series.,and they were the 1st team to ever go undefeated in regional and world series play.The NSPBA ranks Brunswick as the #1 semi pro baseball team in the nation for 2004.

2005 : Brunswick captures it's 4th straight BRAL regular season title and 3rd straight tournament title.Joey Hart is stellar in the Harrisburg Firecracker Tournament firing a 2 hitter against Norristown in the semi and bouncing right back to throw 8 innings in the final. Hart was only reached for 5 total hits in 15 innings straight.
2006 : Brunswick wins it's 5th staight BRAL regular season title and 4th straight tournament title. For the 1st time in team history the o's win the Harrisburg Firecracker tournament. Scott Frye fires a no hit shut out in the championship game and walks just one hitter to prevent a perfect game. Brunswick captures the NABF Mid Atlantic title and makes it's second appearance at the World Series, going 3-2 and finshing as the #3 team in the nation.
2007 : Brunswick wins it's 6th straight BRAL Regular Season Title and its 5th straight Tournament Championship. With these accomplishments the Orioles become the winningest team ever in the BRAL. The Orioles have now been crowned BRAL Champions 9 times in their 17 year existence.
2008 : Brunswick wins it's 7th straight BRAL Regular Season Title, and it's 6th straight Tournament championship. The Orioles also claim the NABF Mid Atlantic trophy and travel to Louisville Ky. for their 3rd World Series appearance, where they finished 3rd. The Orioles now have been crowned BRAL champs 10 times in their 18 year existence. Brunswick is named the #2 team in the nation by the NSPBA in the final poll. Oriole catcher John Mcdowell hits .529 in the World Series and claims the Louisville Sluger Batting Champion award. Oriole pitchers Travis Lee, Willie Mclane, and John Sechler all have stellar outings at the Series. Lee fires a 4 hitter against Cinncinati, Mclane a 4 hitter at Chicago, and Sechler tosses a shutout against Cleveland.
2009: Brunswick wins its 7th straight BRAL tournament championship. The Orioles also win the Reno Powell Memorial Tournament in the 1st entry into the event. Brunswick downed the Winchester Royals 8-3 in early June. The Royals are comprised of some of the best Div 1 players in the country. The Orioles place 4 players on the NSPBA AllAmerican team. Catcher John Mcdowell, Outfielder Matt Rankin, Pitcher Travis Lee, and DH Roger Dawson all garner this distinguished honor. Andy Maught is inducted into the NSPBA Hall Of Fame.
2010 : The Orioles win their 8th straight BRL Tournament Championship, and the Regular Season Crown as well with a record of 17-4. Brunswick places 6 players on the BRL All League team. Jake Darr, Matt Rankin, Ty Main, Spencer Cromer, Travis Lee, and Roger Dawson all garner the honor. With this years titles the Orioles have now won 12 BRL Titles, second to none. Brunswick places 6 on the NSPBA All American teams. Making the 1st team are Spencer Cromer, Jake Darr, and Roger Dawson. Making the 2nd team are Travis Lee, Matt Rankin, and Ty Main
2011 : TheOrioles win their 9th straight BRL Tournament Championship, and the Regular Season Crown as well sporting a 28-8 overall record with a BRL mark of 22-4. The Birds finish in 3rd place in the NABF MidAtlantic Regional. Brunswick places 8 players on the BRL All League team. Pitchers Travis Lee, Spencer Cromer, and Dan Gerjets are all selected. Oriole catcher John Mangold garners the honor as does infielder Jake Darr. Making the team as outfielders are Matt Ramkin, and Wayne Toms. Rounding out the final selection is Second sacker Josh Wenderoth whom was picked as the BRL MVP. Making 1st Team NSPBA All Americans are catcher John Mangold, Josh Wenderoth as an infielder and Wayne Toms as an outfielder. Assistant Coach Greg Barnes is selected as Assistant Coach of the year. Spencer Cromer makes it as a pitcher.
2012 : The Orioles win their 10th straight Blue Ridge Tournament Championship, sporting a record of 23-11. The Orioles finish in 3rd place in the NABF Mid Atlantic Regional. Brock McAllister hits a 3 run homer in game 3 of the BRL Championship series against Boonsboro in the bottom of the 5th to give the Orioles a 10 run rule victory and sweep of the Pirates as the homer was a walk off bomb. McAllister is voted the Blue Ridge MVP. Jake Ringold is voted all league as a designated hitter. Josh Vittek and Bryan Nolan are selected as infielders, and Joey Zuniga as an outfielder. Rounding out the 1st team selections are pitchers Andrew Levy and Travis Lee. Roger Dawson and Scott Frye are inducted into the NSPBA Hall Of Fame.
2013 : Orioles win their 11th straight Blue Ridge Championship. They lose in the semi finals of the NABF MidAtlantic tournament.
2014 : The Orioles make a late run and win the NABF Mid Atlantic Tournament Championship. The Regional final sees the Birds besting their long time rival the Perdue Chicks by a score of 4-0. The Orioles make a great showing at the NABF World Series in Battle Creek Michigan as they go 3-2 and finish 4th out of the field of 12. The Orioles top the number one ranked team in the nation St Johns Lefties out of Pittsburgh PA by a score of 12-3 in the series.
2015 : The Orioles take back the BRAL crown with a 3 game sweep of the Martinsburg Blue Sox in the BRAL tournament. The Championship marks an unprecedented 16th BRAL Title. The Orioles also win the regular season title with a record of 19-1. The Birds capture the Reno Powell Memorial Championship the second time to win that tournament. Brunswick finishes second in the NABF Mid Atlantic Tournament in Salisbury Md. Oriole righthander Kevin Becker Mendito signs in July to play for the Garden City Grays in the Can Am League. Brunswick finishes with a record of 29-5.
2016: After a disappointing regular season and BRAL tournament the Orioles made a great late run as they traveled to Salisbury Md. and captured their fifth NABF Regional Title that sent them off to the World Series in Battle Creek Michigan. The Orioles made a solid showing in the series going undefeated at 3-0 in pool play besting the Cleveland Black Wolves, the Chicago Clout, and the Fort Wayne Indiana Jackers. Brunswick was eliminated in single elimination play by eventual National Champion Brooklyn in 10 innings 6-5. The Orioles are ranked as the number 6 team in the nation by the ASPBR.
2017 : The Orioles collect plenty of hardware as they win the Blue Ridge regular season and tournament championships. They finish as the runner up team in the Reno Powell tournament and are crowned the 2017 Md State semi pro State Champion. They finish with a record of 31-9. Jesse Russo bangs out a 2 RBI single in the top of the 11th inning in the state final to seal the win for the Birds and is crowned the MVP. Josh Simons throws 8 strong innings in the state final surrendering just 1 run Mike Evans gets the win as Brian Powell gets the save. Tommy Ziegen who doubled to lead off the 11th scored the winning run. The Maryland State Semi Pro Baseball Association ranks the Orioles as the number one team in the State for their 2017 final poll.
2018 : The Orioles put together another great season capturing the Blue Ridge regular season and tournament championships. The Birds play great baseball in NABF play as the win the Mid Atlantic Regional Title and finish as the National Runner Up losing in the championship bout to Lombard Illinois. A.J. Lee, Quinn Ambeault, Syeed Mahdi, and Myles Gaymon all are selected to the National All Tournament Team. The Orioles are ranked as the number 2 team in the nation in the ASPBR Final season poll. Phil Reese signs with the New York Bucks. Tommy Ziegen and Jesse Russo sign with the Alpine Cowboys while Troy Terzi signs with the York Revolution.
2019 : The Orioles began their season having sent 2 more former players into Pro Ball via the MLB June Draft. Former Shortstop AJ Lee was selected in the 34th Round by the Houston Astro’s while former Catcher Chandler Redmond was selected in the 32nd Round by the St Louis Cardinals. Brunswick again won the Blue Ridge Title as well as the NABF Mid Atlantic Regional Title before finishing once again as the National Runner up in the NABF Majors Division World Series. Josh McCauley, Matt Jeffrey and Justin Smith were chosen to the World Series All-Tournament Team.
