WELCOME
Thank you for your interest in Xtreme Speed Track Club (XSTC). Our program will provide an opportunity for your child to develop confidence, poise, individuality, mental and physical discipline, determination, work ethic, team work and self-respect. Your athlete will mature among individuals and circumstances that will demand his or her finest efforts and judgments. Your child will develop close relationships with other young athletes who demand the best of themselves and expect the best in others.
Xtreme Speed Track Club is a youth track club in the East Hill Kent area with athletes participating from the neighboring cities of Auburn, Renton, Puyallup and Federal Way. 2010 was our inagural season and we've been learning and growing every season since. Our Xtreme Speed coaches pride themselves on being competitive while promoting the many aspects of track and field, discipline, respect, dedication, determination, nutrition, teamwork and good sportsmanship. From ages 18 and under, our athletes are learning physical skills as well as life skills. Our practices are held at Kentwood High School where we provide a safe environment for our athletes, along with a staff of knowledgeable and experienced coaches who always have the best interest of your child in mind. Our club will be participating in the USATF Jr. Olympics Circuit.
Xtreme Speed consists of VOLUNTEER USATF certified coaches and well qualified support staff. Our club coaches are all very accomplished and have contributed to several local, State, National and International Championships.
HOW XTREME SPEED BEGAN
The 2010 season was the birth year of Xtreme Speed Track Club, founded by Rob Thomas. It was noticed that in the Kent area, there was a lot of talent but no competitive track and field programs for those athletes. Rob participated in youth track and field programs (both indoor and outdoor) at the age of 9 and continued through age 18. At that time, track was governed by TAC. After those 9 special years, Rob did a lot of character building and gained many life learning experiences, which all went towards him achieving a full 4 year collegiate track and field scholarship where he obtained his BA degree. Rob has always had a burning desire to give back to competitive youth track and field just the same as he was blessed with having mentors like Coach Larry Moore and Bob Flowers do the same for him. Fortunately, he was able to connect with other local athletes who gained from these same experiences and who share the same desires to give back to today’s youth in the sport of track and field.
There is A LOT of talent in the South King County area, but there wasn’t a local competitive track and field program for these athletes to learn and compete with. The East Hill area presented a prime area and opportunity to begin this grass roots program for our local athletes where they will gain the proper techniques to maximize their talents, and the proper work ethic to be successful in all that they do.
