Lehigh Valley P.I.A.A. Softball Umpires

Dear LVSUA Executive Board members,

 I chatted with all of you on your thoughts that I list below to wrap up our 2020 LVSUA chapter activities.  We are all disappointed that the spring sports season was canceled but the most important thing is that everyone stays healthy, we will get through this pandemic and hopefully get some sort of normalcy back soon.

Based upon everyone’s input, below is what we will do to wrap up our 2020 chapter activities:

·         The Marty Weitzman Award program is canceled for 2020 due to no spring softball season and we will award the 2019 Marty Weitzman award next year at our meeting at the Paddock.  

·         Secretary and Treasurer stipends have been paid for this season.  No further action needed. 

·         The positions of Rules Interpreter (Jim), Web Support (Skip), Golf Tournament Chairperson (Rick) have their dues paid as part of their stipend.  Since there will be no dues collected for 2020, Jim, Skip, and Rick will be paid a $35 stipend.  We appreciate their hard work and dedication to our chapter.

·         Charitable Donation- Larry Marhefka thought it would be a nice gesture to give a charitable donation on behalf of the 2020 softball seniors who will not be able to experience their senior year of softball. In speaking to Andy, we did not make a donation in 2019 as we normally do. A $100 check will be given to a charity for 2020.  I spoke with Andy and he will write a  $100 check to the Betty Lou Food Pantry, http://www.bettylouspantry.com/.

 I think that about covers it for the 2020 spring softball season, feel free to reach out if I missed anything.
