MoCo Warriors End of Winter 2018 Season Games
Congratulations to the MoCo Warriors teams for finishing the season strong, even after the season was hurt by United Hoops Unlimited swindling the organization of money and closing their league during the season without fulfilling their obligations. MoCo Warriors 2020 go to NTBA Nationals and Represent Montgomery County!
MoCo Warriors 2020 went to the NTBA Nationals July 7-11, 2018 in Myrtle Beach, SC as the only 10th Grade team from Montgomery County, and amazed everyone. We went with 7 (Jaylen, Maximus, Desmond, Chris, Shamar, Isaiah and Samaj) along with two coaches (Coach Kerwin and Coach Bill). We went with all intention to play in the Silver Division of Nationals, but the boys did so well in Pool play, finishing 2nd Place (2-1), that the boys took the bid into the Gold Division. The boys were defeated in the 2nd round of the Gold Division. But they played amazingly throughout the tournament.

Champions of ZG's 76ERS FIELDHOUSE FINALE Tournament
Congratulations MoCo Warriors (4-0) on doing what seemed impossible. Only 5 players played this weekend in Zero Gravity's 76ERS FIELDHOUSE FINALE Tournament in Delaware. Odds were against them, the referees didn't think they would last out, much less dominate the floor the way they did. And without any hesitation they hit the floor running in every game. To finish pool play in 1st place then to go on and win the Championship. Coach Kerwin Stephens, was honored to coach Samaj Smith, Jaylen Stephens, Chris Mills, Robert Mozie and Antonio Brown, The Boys were amazing and running on all cylinders. The completed the tournament by taking the championship by over 20. The boys ran the entire game without loosing stride or missing a beat. All areas of the game were on point. 5 boys acting as one makes success.
We were able to visit Bethel A.M.E. Wilmington Delaware service while we were in town on Sunday morning before our championship game. The service was in a H.S. due to their Church being unavailable. The boys seem to have also taken something out of it. I'd like to thank the members of the church for being so open to us.

MoCo Warriors 2020 - 7th out of 34 in Zero Gravity Nationals
Congratulations MoCo Warriors 2020 (9th Grade) pull off what all think wasn't going to be done. This past weekend they played in Zero Gravity's National and completed their division in 7th place out of 34 teams which represented 13 states. The team was coached by Coach Kerwin and lead by their captain, Shamar (#1) with Ricky (#7), Jaylen (#11), Samaj (#13), Phillip (#18), Kyler (#20), & Malik (#22).
What is more remarkable, is that they completed pool play in 1st place with only 7 players. They were a defensive machine. Offensively they were all over the other teams dropping threes from every part of the court and attacking the basket incredibly.
Unfortunately only 6 players as they started their Championship run. They left it all on the floor, and it did pay off. Great job boys!
Special thanks to Rick Lane, Barbara Ortiz, and Kershon Stephens for taking their time out to drive up, support and assist in making sure the players were mentally, physically, emotionally, and nutritionally ready all weekend.
This is the first of many Nationals in our futures and exposure events for this team and the organization as a hole.
The Warrior FAMILY definitely went to Nationals and represented not only the organization but DMV Ball !!!

MoCo Warriors 5th Grade Team Champions in SlamCity Grassroots 4 Tournament
Spring 2015 MoCo Warriors 11u team on their Championship in the 5th Grade Division of the Slam City Grassroots 4 Tournament. This newly formed team has been playing hard and getting stronger and stronger in every tournament. Congratulations on their first of many Championships to come.
MoCo Warriors 13u team were Runner-Up in the 7th Grade Division of the Slam City Grassroots 4 Tournament. The completed pool play in 1st place. This is the firs time I have ever had to say this but we lost to Team Fire Elite, a team that we defeated the day before and because of that they brought multiple extra players who seemed to be above the age of the division who made no difference in the game until they started to play dirty (hitting, punching, pulling, taunting, kicking..etc...). This was not caught by the Slam City referee, because unfortunately they only had one referee handling a championship game who was unable to catch them in their poor sportsmanship and clearly violent type of play. I am proud of my players because they never stopped down to their type of playing, they just continued to push on. Congratulations on the Runner-Up position and excellent job on maintaining your exposure and staying disciplined in your game.
Excellent Job to you WARRIORS!!!!!

WolfPack 3rd grade team out of Washington D.C. coached by Rome joined the under MoCo Warriors to play in Slam City's Let Your Playing Do Your Talking tournament. The team only came with 5 players available. They showed true heart and were a force for the other teams to recon with (imagine what would have happened if they didn't have 5 missing players.) They played up into the 4th grade divisions. We look forward to the Wolfpack joining in as our younger team and playing in a few more competitions in the 2015 - 2016 season and beyond.
The 5th Grade team also played up to the 6th Grade level in this competition.

MoCo Warriors Prepare for 11u & 12u Championships in PVBL 2015 Winter League
Due to weather and facility issues the Championship games were moved to the 1st of March. The playoffs were exciting to say the least and at the end of the Playoff weekend we find our family with the 11u and 12u heading for a championship run!
Warriors 14u defeat Laural Lakers in a nail bighting game in the first round of the playoffs, but then were defeated by the Classics in the 2nd Round. Great job and effort for a team that has only been together for less than 4 months.
Warriors 12u defeat Next Level Up 51-4 in the first round of the playoffs and then go on to bead Maryland Motion 49 to 43 in an emotionally charged game. Although Coach Kerwin (Kerwin Stephens) head Coached the team, it was Assitant Coach Rodney's (Rodney Thorne) passionate words that inspired the team and pumped their blood up with his charging command "NOT TODAY, we will not loose TODAY, we won't play badly TODAY, we wont be going home TODAY!" Warriors expect to face DMV Swarm on Sunday in the Championship games!
Warriors 11u will face Columbia Ravens on Sunday for the Championship!
11u and 12u teams, its time to represent in the Championship!!!!!

Warriors 11u were defeated by the Columbia Ravens, leaving them in 2nd place at the end of the 2015 PVBL Winter League. Being that this is the first season that this 11u team played together, that was still an amazing position to take!

Warriors Bring home the Silver in MD Flames Gettin Hot Tournament
MoCo Warriors take 2nd Place in MD Flames Gettin Hot Tournament that took place on June 2-3, 2012 at the Discovery SportsPlex in Boyds, MD.
The MoCo Warriors - 10u (4th Grade) team which played this weekend consisted of Jaylen, Dezmond, Chase, Chris, Malykhi, Jordan, Marselis, Jakob (missing from picture), Imani, and Kyle (missing from picture).
The team played well the entire tournament and played with all of their heart and showed their amazing skills and ability to excecute directions and follow the plan to victory!
Game 2 was secured by Jordan's amazing rebound and shot that put us into overtime and Chase's winning buzzer beating with .4 seconds left on the clock.
Chase was the MVP of game 4 hands down with more than 6 steals, 2 amazing blocks the shot that put us in overtime with .1 seconds left and scoring over 10 points. Chris was the highest point scorer in the game with more than 17 points!
All and all the entire team pulled together and put it all on the floor during this 4 game series but loose the 4th game in Overtime by 5 points in a game that not only had the spectators and family of the game off of its feet, but also had the attention and excitement of the upcoming teams, and spectators of the other courts! A referee made the comment that basically sums up the 4th Game, "The team that wins this game deserves to win, but the team that looses doesn't deserve to loose"
This tournament was the last one of the season, but clearly showed without a doubt how much heart the team has and how much of Family they are! And we walk off into the summer as Medal holding WINNERS
Coach Kerwin has been proud of them the entire season as they fought to the end against the many issues and other problems that they faced in tournament and left the floor with nothing but pure excitement and a clear feeling of pride as his team took the 2nd Place (Silver) in this well match and hard played tournament!
