A decision has been made to cancel the event. We will make sure any individual who has purchased a ticket receive a full refund. RCFLA will continue to try to assist with helping families in need to get funding to be able to participate in this program. We want to be there for important moments in the lives of our future leaders.

Rockets Team Update -July 24, 2013
Thanks to all of the players, coaches, parents, and friends who supported Mt Luxor Rockets 2013 Tournament Season. This was by far our best season yet!!! All teams opted not to attend the National Championship Tournaments this year, but there is no disappointment in this. Congrats to Coach Fred Young for being the Rockets' Coach of the Year. Coach Young assisted with coaching all teams, along with leading his 7th grade team. Coach Young 7th Team placed in all Tournaments played this year. They finished 1st in in one tournament, 2nd in 4, and 3rd in 2 (1 of the 3rd finishes was a result of a 3-way tiebreaker for 1st). A very special thanks to Silvia Freeman and Cynthia Williams for taking on extra responsibilities this year while Catina Duncan continues her treatment for Cancer. Also thanks to all of the hard work the rest of our coaches and Team Representatives provided. We couldn't done it without you!!! Mike Daley, Yvonne Young, Jasmine Young, Melissa Diggs, Herman Freeman Jr, Martin Jackson, Annie Frye, Tyson Black, and Donald Moore. In addition, thanks to Bethal Baptist Church, Deacoin Bruner Rose and Pastor Antonio Johnson. Your contribution to our program has meant a lot.
Also, this season our High School Boys finished 2nd in 4 Tournaments while playing shorthanded, but DISCIPLINE. After combining our 8th and 9th grade, they finished 2nd in 1 Tournament - Big things reuniting the old group from 2011. The 3rd grade team played well and was able to compete with high level competition after starting their season late.
What's next? If we are able to get at least 1 additional Tournament in for the 7th grade (rising 8th) we will. There will be some teams playing an additional Tournament based off Teams' budget. 7th grade are continuing the Grade Wolf Lodge Giveaway Fundraiser to assist players with getting funds to participate. Please contact Coach Fred Young if you are interested in donating or need additional information.
All players- All uniforms need to be turned in ASAP, except Rising 8th grade. We will also be fundraising to assist players to be able to participate in our program. Please support our youth if you see them out in the community fundraising. Your donation is going to a positive cause. We have a lot of parents who are not able to afford to keep their kids involved without donations and/or sponsorship.

Due to the large increase in participants, all teams were first year teams this Season. We are proud to say, each team had the opportunity to play a Tournament Championship Game this year. This is hard to do for 1st year teams going up against AAU, YBOA, and USBA competition. We thank all who made this year successful for our players. Especially our coaches, Team Representatives, other parents who volunteered their time to assist in making this happen for more than 120 players in our program from Cabarrus, Rowan, & Mecklenburg Counties(NC). We had no intentions of increasing to so many teams this year, but you as the community asked for it and we responded.- We also sent the 10th & 7th grade teams to USBA Nationals this year. The Teams played well. Thanks to all involved with making this a positive experience for the players.
-Our educational and athletic program operates under Rowan-Cabarrus Future Leaders Association(RCFLA). The Rockets also thank you for supporting us this season.

Great 1st season for the Mt. Luxor Rockets 2011 Teams.
Congratulations to the 4th Grade Rockets for winning 3 Tournaments this year, finishing 4th place at YBOA NC State Championships, and for finishing fifth overall in USBA National Championship. The team played in Nationals with only 5 players and lost by 3 points to the tournament runner-up. This was truly HEAD-HEART-HUSTLE by our players.
Congratulations to the 8th Grade Rockets for winning 2 Tournaments this year and for finishing within the top 15 at USBA National Championship before losing to the eventual National Champions. In addition, the team won the Queen City Fall Ball 2011 Championship.
Good job to the newly developed 6th grade team which branched off from our 8th grade team late in the season. You guy gave a great effort at the USBA Nationals while playing with only 6 players.
Good job to our 3rd grade team which branched off from our 4th grade team midseason. You guys have worked hard playing with only five players for most of the season.
Thanks to all of the parents, coaches, & sponsors who worked to make things happen for our players. This was truly a positive experience for our youth. Special thanks to Catina Duncan, Johnny Monley, Judy Monley, Mike McCulloch, Shawn Perry, Avis Heggins, Sharonda Perry, Greg Purvis, Sonya Purvis, Roxanne Davis, Willie Douglas, and Belita Goodlett for either sponsorship and/or supporting our youth at Nationals. Also thanks to Coach Terry Benjamin, Chris Miller, Tarus Johnson, and Martin Jackson for the rolls you have played with helping as well.
Special Thanks to SKN Future Leaders Association, Kannapolis City Schools, Mt. Luxor Supreme Council Masons, Ivy League Lawn Service of Concord, Fallen Services (catering and food) of Concord, and We Cuttin Up Beauty Salon of Kannapolis for your support.
