This is an URGENT update regarding the legislative requirements under the implementation of Rowan’s Law by the Government of Ontario. What is Rowan’s Law? Rowan Stringer was a 17-year old Ottawa varsity rugby player who died from sustaining multiple concussions resulting in a catastrophic swelling of the brain – second impact syndrome.
On March 7, 2018, Ontario passed Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 and related amendments to the Education Act. However, it is important to understand that this applies to all Sport Organizations, schools, programs and businesses in the province. This is mandatory– it is legislation (Ontario Regulation 161/19) from the Government
All Registrants registering must have completed the review information and acknowledgement prior to registration/participation
All Registrants/Coaches/Bench Staff must complete the review of information and acknowledgement prior to participation
Please read the information below that pertains to the age of the player and then complete the Rowans Law Acknowledgement Form.

IT IS MANDATORY PRIOR TO ROSTERING THE PLAYERS ON A TEAM THAT EACH PLAYER'S
(PARENT/GUARDIAN) SUBMITS A COMPLETED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM.
Please see the attached form. Print and fill out the form once you have read all of the above information and links, and bring it to your child's first practice. You can also submit it prior by giving it to the team's coach or a board member. If you have more than one child you will have to fill out a form for each participant.
