NORMAL TOURNAMENT GAME RULES
USA softball/P5 Tournaments hybrid rules will apply (Normal USA Softball Rules with a few exceptions). A coin flip will determine the home and away teams during pool play. The higher seed will be the home team during bracket play. Roster batting and DP/FLEX can be used throughout the tournament. If a team does not bat their entire roster and subs will be used, they must submit a lineup card to the umpire during the umpire/coaches pre-game meeting. Pool play games will be 70 minutes finish the inning. If the home team is winning at the time limit then the game will end before the inning is finished. Pool play games can end in a tie. Bracket play games will be 75 minutes finish the inning. If the home team is winning at the time limit then the game will end before the inning is finished. Bracket play games can NOT end in a tie. The International Tie Breaker will be used if a game is tied after regulation. The Championship game will be a full regulation game with no time limit. The International Tie Breaker will be used in this game as well if it is tied after regulation. Mercy rules apply for ALL games.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION GAME RULES
Normal USA softball rules will apply with a few exceptions. A coin flip will determine the home and away teams during all games with the exception of the loser's bracket finals and the championship game(s). Roster batting and DP/FLEX can be used throughout the tournament. All games prior to the championship game(s) will be 70 minutes finish the inning. If the home team is winning at the time limit then the game will end before the inning is finished. The International Tie Breaker will be used if a game is tied after regulation. Championship games will be a full regulation game with no time limit. The International Tie Breaker will be used in this game as well if it is tied after regulation.
COURTESY RUNNER RULE
If a substitute is available then that player MUST be used as the courtesy runner. If no eligible substitute is available then the Last Completed at Bat (LCAB) may serve as a courtesy runner, subject to all other applicable restrictions (cannot run for both positions in the same inning, etc). If an eligible substitute is physically present but is unable to courtesy run because of injury or illness, that player shall be ineligible for the entire game if the team utilizes the LCAB courtesy runner option. The LCAB courtesy runner is determined at the time the courtesy runner is requested, skipping batters: 1. currently on base, 2. who are the pitcher or catcher of record, or 3. who have already courtesy run for the other position in the same inning. In the first inning, if no eligible substitutes are available to courtesy run, the LCAB courtesy runner shall be the person furthest away in the batting order (i.e., the LCAB courtesy runner for the lead off batter is the last batter listed in the lineup).
MERCY RULES
12 runs after 3 innings
10 runs after 4 innings
8 runs after 5 innings
POOL PLAY TIEBREAKER CRITERIA
Win-Loss Record
Head-to-Head Record
Run Differential
Runs Allowed
Runs Scored
1. If only 2 teams have the same record after pool play then this criteria will be used to break the tie.
2. If 3 or more teams have the same record after pool play and have played an equal amount of games against each other then this criteria will be used to break the tie.
3. If 3 or more teams have the same record after pool play but have NOT played an equal amount of games against each other then Head-to-Head Record will be nullified for part 1 of the tiebreaker. Run Differential and so forth will then be used for part 1 of the 3-way tie. After part 1 of the 3-way tie is broken, part 2 of the tiebreaker will revert back to Head-to-Head Record and so forth until all subsequent ties are broken.
EJECTION POLICY
1. If ANY player who plays in a P5 Tournaments' tournament is deemed ineligible, it will result in that player and head coach being ejected for the entire tournament. The team will also forfeit each game that player participated in.
2. If a player or coach is ejected during a game for any other reason than above, that player or coach will be excluded from participation in that game as well as their team's next game.
FORFEIT POLICY
If any team forfeits for any reason, they will receive a 7-0 loss and their opponent will receive a 7-0 win. The individual scheduled game will also count towards both teams guaranteed games played total.
