Regulators Guarantee win

February 15, 2004
The A Guarantee team was looking forward to this game and thought it would be easy the Regulators are a marked team each game is personal to any team we play said Holloway and A Guarantee gave a good effort but could not put the Regulators away Charles Smith and John Thompson alone with Dayo Holloway and Maurice Shannon ran rough shot in the low post and that was the difference. The multiple defense of the Regulators help change the game as they went into a 1-2-2 from the 2-3 final score 81-76 Holloway said players on this team must think we are marked.

Diesel ride over the Firbirds

February 22, 2004
The final score was 91-72 the front line of the Diesel was just to much Firebirds guard Mike Clayton had some big 3 points shots but it was not enough the game started out with the Diesel going up 20 -4 and they really looked back from that point on a rally by the Birds came up short as they could cut the lead to 10 and could never get any closer Willie Jones and Ray Thomas put some points on the board but they didn't play well enough to win the Diesel are looking for the show down with the Regulators in a few weeks.

Diesel roll on !!!!!!!!!

February 28, 2004
The Diesel roll over A Guarantee 91-81 the Diesel look to be getting stronger as they keep their strong inside game going they simply stay on the board the team out rebound every team they play coach Willie McCray said we stress the rebound and smart play.

Outlawz hold up Firebirds

February 28, 2004
D.Martin had a pretty good game in helping his team defeat the birds 108-74 the offense was just smoking the 3 point shooting was well over 60 percent as the Outlawz played solid defense and out rebounded the Firebirds who just could not get it going Shaun Freeman hit some shots to try and keep it close but again they could not stay within 10 points of the Outlawz Ryan Murrow played hurt but still came up big and had one dunk team captain Tim Lane did everything he could to keep his team on the job at hand and win the game.

Regulators upset by A Guarantee

March 14, 2004
We may have been looking forward to much to the showdown on Friday night with the Outlawz but no excuses they came too play we shot 35 percent from the field and let them control the boards on both ends of the court they could do no wrong everything they shot fell through the hoop, they played much better than have been playing and are much better team than they were in our first meeting.Shots right under the basket miss fired time after time team captain Dayo Holloway said and we must learn to play solid defense when our offense isn't working and that will keep us in the game guard/forward Charles Smith kept his game up he had 20 points but he didn't enough help Holloway had 15 points.Final score 96-86 Adrial Coleman who played last season with the Regulators had a big game he hit 14 points from the guard position for A Guarantee.

Regulators fall in rematch

March 19, 2004
In the rematch that both teams have been looking for the Outlawz simply out played the Regulators to the tune of 84-74 the 10 point win was done by some strong defense and out standing free throw shooting as a team and the Regulators didn't hit enough free throws to even look as through they could get the win but early in the thrid period it started to look as though they would get it done after coming from 10 points down at the half they tied the game and then went into melt down after that but it was entertaining as the Regulators dance team performed at halftime Dayo Holloway of the Regulators led all both teams in scoring with 26 points James Whitfield led the Outlawz with 17 Tim Lane who had one his better games had 15 for the Outlawz D. Martin had 15 points from his small forward position.Tapes of the TV game can be had for $15.00 this includes shipping.

Regulators poor shooting continues to Panic

March 25, 2004
The Dallas Panic came to play from the start they jumped out to a 18 to 2 lead and held on from there as the Regulators came back to tie the game and the lead went to both teams until the Regulators went cold on the shooting and the Panic found the basketball more than the Regulators final score 78-61 as the last 2:50 was shot from the line the Regulators didn't hit the free throws and the Panic did as they went on to win Ryan Mulcahy hit 24 points for the Panic Ronald Brennan led the Regulators with 25 points.Next up for the Panic will be the Johnson County Outlawz it should be a good battle.

Dallas Panic hold up Outlawz!!!

March 27, 2004
The Dallas Panic came to play and play they did with a balance attack from the floor no one player took over the game Tyrone Price did some damage rebounding and passing the ball but as ateam they shot over 60 percent from the field they almost didn't miss and the Outlawz while showing they can play from behind could not adjust enough to get the win final 104-81.

Price on Diesel to high for A Guarantee

March 29, 2004
The Diesel roll over the A Guarantee who had won three in row 100-104 was the final score .

Outlawz let A Guaranteed win slip away

April 4, 2004
The Johnson County Outlawz led most of the game but didn't get to the line to secure the victory neeeding one foul to be in the bonus from the middle part of the third period they fell to get to the free throw line to put the game away instead they shot three's and you know what happens if they don't fall the A Guarantee team had fast break opportunities and missed a few but hit enough to get back in the game and steal the victory with one minute left on the clock final 73-70 it was a tough loss for the Outlawz who out played the A Guarantee all the way the Outlawz players took the loss hard as some sat on the bench for five minutes after the game was over.

Outlawz new head coach

April 15, 2004
The Johnson County Outlawz will have a new head coach for the 2005 season interm coach Tim Lane did a good job this season but the team will need a non player head coach to keep moving forward Lane may be a player assistant next season if he is sign'ed the team has already started looking at positions that they need to fill inorder to get to the top a true center and a power forward are on the list the guard play was good this season with James Whitfield and point Brent Nugent up top but the team lost some games this season because of no low post player to take over the game when the three's stop falling they couldn't out rebound opponets.Chris Lewis is one of the coaches the team is looking at he brings a lot of knowledge with him and contacts with solid players.

Outlawz looking at Lane in small roll!

April 17, 2004
Tim Lane will play the small forward position on the 2005 team roster he had to play center this season but the team is already working on putting the pieces in place that it will need to keep improving a true center and a power forward are high on the list and then it's about a solid second line of players that can contribute another true point guard is needed Brent Nugent will be resign'ed at the point and will battle for the starters roll with who ever the team brings in the shooting guard position will be a battle as well James Whitfied was the starter this season and had his high's and low's but he is a player and we know he will step his game up he had things going on this season so his game was off a little .D.Martin and Ryan Murrow while are good players but what position do they play both can play small forward or guard and the young players who improved this season Juillan Johnson and Franks the 3rd showed they can get better both are guards it will be interesting to see with all the new players that will come into training camp in February how it shakes out the one thing that is for sure is that the team will be better.

Regulators give up 18 point lead

April 22, 2004
In a game that was clear on the out come from the opening tip changed in the last 3 minutes of the game a foul call that Regulators David Peoples thought was a call for him went to a technical shot for the A Guarantee team and a 2 point swing Peoples went to the line to shoot 2 free throws made the first shot when the officals stepped in and made a call that the wrong player was shooting the ball and it was done on purpose. Regulators Ronald Brenning was the player that should be shooting they said and called a technical foul on the Regulators A.D. Coleman made both of his free throw shoots to put the A Guarantee ahead by 5 points and the game. The Regulators led by Dayo Holloway and Ronald Brenning scoring at will and when they wanted too the lead by halftime was 10 and the Regulators looking as if it was just a matter of running the clock out the A Guarantee team made a run but could not cut the lower than 8 points as the Regulators kept scoring but in the last 3 minutes some turn overs by the Regulators gave the A Guarantee the chance they needed as the lead was cut to 3 points with the Regulators looking like they were about to close the game out from the line when the call came from the officals final score 75-70 Holloway finished with 22 points for the Regulators, the loss left coach Tom Robinson shaking his head and saying this team hasn't got the finish the job when you have team down set of mind .But he said I'm happy that this is over so we can get to work closing the holes in this team some players looking to be on the team next season attended the game and as players will do they can hardly wait to get into off season workouts with the team to hopefully help close those holes in the team.

League merger off !

February 1, 2005
After a few weeks of conversation the merger sort of talks were discontinued what happen is the RDBL and ABA were not becoming one league but the logo and name was going to be used within the RDBL name while the two kept their idenity. But after a few weeks of bad press and other things going on within the ABA the name didn't seem to have that much going for it so the conversation went dead Williams said Joe Newman said he wanted to be in the spring/summer mix and so we visited about the possiblity of using the name with ours but after things started to fall apart in the ABA and Newman not wanting to answer questions on how to fix the the bad press we thought it best we stay apart after all we have what they don't TV coverage even though before the ABA season started they were saying they had ESPN and other TV media coverage. We broke off talks and wished each other the best one thing is for sure it takes a lot to operate a league but if teams are not ran by people who really know what it takes to make it all happen things can go bad really fast and we don't want to be the biggest spring/summer league just one that can finish the season with all the teams intact Williams said.

February 15, 2005
After three years of building and having conversation with other minor leagues of basketball the RDBL will play on as an independent with two teams playing under the banner as a player development system. We have held talks with the USBL and what was like a bad dream ABA one set of talks were merger the other joining the league with four RDBL teams moving into the other league the RDBL was formed as a pro/am which allows the teams to operate and make a profit teams play game on television in there local market the Tarrant county Regulators will have shown 8 television games this season the fan base has grown each season and even more people watch the delayed braodcast of the games which allows the team to get sponsors.RDBL president Will Williams who is a TV sportscaster and owns a TV production company has said after visiting in conversation with other league's that since those league's are not in the business for the teams to become a better business for the owner he will wait until the right mix for both parties come alone after all we are already making a profit those teams operate in the Red we did try to schedule games with a few of them and they can't make trip's to us but we can travel to them. The CBA is the best one out there but all of those teams are too far away for a team in Texas to play a season with the cost on the teams would drive them out of business I would like to see the USBL which we had conversation with start a South division it would cut the travel on teams down and the teams from what should be a East would not see those teams until playoff time but those talks broke off after the over priced franchise fee couldn't be work'ed out so for now the 2006 RDBL season will consist of the Tarrant County Regulators and Johnson County Outlaws playing a 20 game independent schedule to showcase the teams players the teams will play any team from anywhere and all home games are televised with a plan to show selected road trip games on tape delay in those markets. The NDBL has had some contact with the league after all we do have something there teams don't we televise the games and any sports team needs that to generate money. The other two markets that will have RDBL teams still playing in 2006 are Odessa,Texas and Beaumont,Texas.

League changing focus

February 9, 2011 – 02:48 PM
As the economic winds of change continue to blow through business and change the way of conducting it, the RDBL has decided to move into a new direction as well.

The league will feature but one club and that organization will move forward as a Academy team made up of players age 18 thru 21 looking to continue playing the game of basketball, while attempting to gain a trip onto a college program.

The RDBL Basketball Academy will focus on recruiting high school talent that is passed up for many reasons and give those young Men a second chance to build upon their skills,The organization will be located in West Texas as it's home base.

The RDBL was founded and had it's start in the Fort Worth,Texas area after the league stopped play in 2006 the Tarrant County Regulators continued to play a few exhibition games then shut down in 2007, in order to decide what the league and one of its more known organizations would do for future growth, league founder Will Williams thought the league should move toward younger players which was the focal point in the development of the RDBL but deciding how to go about that wasn't easy.

But after reforming the league with Six new organizations and the Regulators in 2010 then deciding not to move into the season as the economic conditions weren't getting better for minor league sports as a business,it was decided that the league would become a new way of out reach and more community based, Williams who has been through Eight months of health recovery issues from surgeries.

Thought that if he brought the league back it should do more than play for wins and he had received emails from players looking for ways to get that second chance, the Regulators will return under the RDBL Basketball Academy Regulators name in 2011 a new team site will launch and linked with the old team and RDBL site which shows the history of the organization.

Look for the team to start play with a Summer program and build into season play by late Fall as the Red,Black and Silver runs again, thanks to all who have supported the organization over the years.

November 7, 2003
Rahim Washington ,3rd all time leading scorer in Neumann College history could be signing with the team he has been 1st team all Pac 4 years in a row with an 18 point average and solid defense he could help our triangle offense a great deal said Tom Robinson team scout and this season we are planning on using the triangle defense with zone and man looks from it as well as screen over switch so players who can move will be very important on both ends of the court. The numbers look good on Rahim and video tells us he can play.We are looking to have a set of guards that can both sometime play the point while the ball is in play we feel this will open up opportunites for the other players when both guards are on the court together during a game when we go to that look.Craig Brandon is a playmaker guard we are intending on using a lot he is young so mistakes come with him but what he can do will off set that.
