Panthers 16u wins HSBN Fall Clasic

November 20, 2017

The Panthers captured a Fall Classic tittle for the 4th time and this time it was in the 16u. They battled back after a pool play loss to make the playoffs and then defeat a #1 seed by sweeping them in a best of 3 series. They reached the championship game and they beat the team they lost to in pool play 5-2. Gabriel Perez was outstanding all tournament long on the mound and came in and shut the door down on the Wildcats. He pitched 11 scoreless innings in the tournament. Danny Quinones drove in four runs and scored one to lead the offense. Tyler Valdes pitched great in the semi final. Congrats to all of the Panthers as they played with a lot team spirit.

JJ Teixeira signs NLI with FIU

November 8, 2017

Juan J. Teixeira signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) with FIU today. We are very proud of Juan for all his hard work and dedication to his passion. Juan started at Somerset in 8th grade and played in our Middle School team and then on JV in his 9th grade year as he transitioned to be a pitcher. He worked with our pitching coach Anier Morales to become an outstanding pitcher and joined the varsity as a sophomore. Juan went 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA as a sophomore and then went 7-1 as a junior with a 1.66 ERA. His fastball has improved 80 mph as a freshman to 94 mph currently and his command and secondary pitches are very good. Juan will join his brother who is already playing at FIU. Congrats to Juan and his family for this great achievement!
