• Greater Hartford Independent Softball League
Website of the coed recreational league in which Team inDRStructible plays. This site lists all the league's teams, along with team captain and contact information. Many of teams choose to have their season schedule and game results listed on this site.

  • Disney's Wide World of Sports - slow-pitch softball events
A listing of all slow-pitch softball tourneys to be held at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex. The taxmen will be participating in Disney's Slowpitch Holiday Classic to be held the weekend of December 14-16, 2007.

  • Measure the distance between two points
Works just like the program Chris Atwood uses - click on any two points and then hit the "calculate distance" button to determine the distance in feet (or miles.) The website defaults to some spot in Maryland, but you can easily zoom out, find Connecticut, zoom back in, and then check out some of the playing fields we've played. You can toggle back and forth between map and satellite views. It was utilizing a website like this that we were able to calculate that Dave Cushman's memorable homerun that was drilled over the roof at Hockanum School traveled approximately 380 feet!

  • Movie trailer from Artie Lange's Beer League
The official movie trailer for a film that Luca Capriglione, Team inDRStructible's cinematic connoisseur, calls, "the greatest hour and half ever put to celluloid. Definitely Oscar-worthy. Drunks who smoke, curse, and play softball - what else could you want?"

  • *NEW* - YouTube video on hitting using rotational power
If nothing else, it's cool to watch this just to see some of the monster bombs crushed by these dudes. (But most of the players on the team should immediately forget what they see here and stick to hitting singles!)

  • Listing of batting cages in Connecticut
An alphabetical listing of all batting cages in Connecticut, which gives addresses and phone numbers.

  • ASA - listing of banned bats
To be used a guideline in determining which bats should not be used in league play. As a general rule, multi-walled bats and other high-end composite bats are not allowed. Since we are a coed recreational league, the aim is to have fun and eliminate the chance of injury.

  • ASA - bat & ball certification info
A six-page informational document discussing the ASA certification program for bats and balls. A good reference in determining which compression- and COR-level softballs should be used in league play. (Pages 5 and 6 are particularly helpful in explaining the varying compression and COR levels stamped on softballs. The basic rule of thumb - the higher the compression or COR, the farther and faster the ball will travel.)

  • 2006 CT Sportsplex Early Bird Tournament results
The full results from Team inDRStructible's first stab competing in a USSSA men's Class E tournament. (Unfortunately, the team's name is misspelled, and the score of the taxmen's first game is incorrectly listed. In its opening game, DRS lost 22-7, rather than 19-4, not that it makes much of a difference.)

  • USSSA - Northeast Division - Slow-pitch Men's E - 2006 team rankings
In 2006, Team inDRStructible may have gone 0-3 and been mercy-ruled in its only appearance in a USSSA men's tournament. But according to USSSA's year-end rankings, the taxmen ranked #362 out of 1,908 total teams in the Northeast. Not too bad. (Just means there are a lot of teams that registered with ASA but never entered a tournament.)
