CENTRAL FLORIDA YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

CFFL Flag Football is for boys and girls Pre-K (5 years of age) through 8th grade. This program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. The CFYFL-Flag Football program is being launched June 2017. This Flag Football program is designed to educate young athletes about football in a safe and fun environment while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Participants learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field.It’s all about fun!  Our programs are developed around making sure each participant and family is having run regardless of skill level or experience.  For more competitive athletes CFFL offers a Sunday League where teams can enter with pre-formed player rosters.

Game Times & Details: Games and practices will take place on Saturday's or Sunday's as indicated below.  All games and practices will be played at the same league/location each week unless the league is combined with another location.  CFFL Flag Football reserves the right to combine locations based on enrollment.  Saturday games can begin as early as 9 am.  Sunday leagues will start at 1:00 pm.  Generally, younger divisions will play earlier in the day. Each team will play 7 games.  Practice will be held on the same day of games one hour before your scheduled game each week.  Coaches may schedule practices during the week and they are responsible for securing locations.

Q: Who Can Play?
A: This program is open to Boys and Girls, 4 years of age (as of the registration deadline date)  Participants from any city can register for any of our programs.  
Q: How are Individual Players Placed on Teams?
A: This is a league designed to keep schoolmates playing together.  Therefore, individuals are placed on teams determined by school, grade and age factors.  Our goal is for each elementary and middle school to have their own flag football teams.  Teams are formed using the following criteria:
1. Current Grade /Max Age for grade
2. Buddy Request
3. School Affiliation

4. Draft may be used based on skill assessment (TBA)
Q: How many players are on a team?
A: Most teams have 8-10 players.  However, we do reserve the right to stretch these guidelines if the league deems necessary

 

 

Q: Does the league supply uniforms?
A: Every Flag Football player in our program receives a  team jersey and mouth guard to keep with your registration.  *Flag belts are supplied and must be returned at end of season.

 

Q: How much playing time can my child expect?
A
: All of our programs promote participation, fun, and fundamentals. Coaches are required to fairly allocate playing time equally among all players on the team. We will do our best to assure all players receive equal playing time.

 

Q: What do I get for my Registration Fee?

A seven-game season including practices, use of well-groomed fields, game officials, team  jersey, mouth-guard,  organized administration, and a lot of FUN for you and your child!

 

Q: Are there playoffs?
A:
 No. This is a recreation league that is designed to teach the fundamentals of flag football. The outcome of each game is irrelevant. The concept is what is important.  We do offer tournaments throughout the year if you are looking for something more competitive.

 

Q: What types of awards are given?
A:
 Each player will receive an individual participation award.

 

Q: Do all flag football players need mouth pieces?
A:
 It is absolutely mandatory that all players are wearing a mouth piece before stepping on the field.  Mouth guards are sold during registration as well as on site at each of our fields.
Q: When will I receive my equipment?
A:
 All participants will receive their equipment (jerseys, flag belts, and any other ordered merchandise) from their coach at the Meet & Greet.

Q: Who are the coaches?
A:
 All of our coaches are volunteer parents/family members.  Each coach is background checked before being assigned to the team.  Our coaches attend a pre-season coaches meeting/training session.

Q: How does the refund policy work?
A:
 After you register, you have until 5:00pm on your league’s deadline date to send an email to the league office stating that you would like to withdraw your child from the program. You will be assessed a $30 cancellation fee AND will forfeit your child’s flags and jersey. Processing fees are non-refundable. There will be no refunds issued after the deadline date.
