CGSB Board Minutes  – 3/9/21

Annual Coaches Meeting open to the public.

Attendance - All board members present. 

Old Business

• Clark Girls Softball Board introduced.

• Recap of 2020 season

New Business

• Beginning with this public meeting, all future board minutes will be posted at our website.
  

• Registration Update – 215 players

• Two new scoreboards to be installed and ready for Opening Day.

• Improvements discussed include:

• painting concession, field maintenance, graveled paths, new backstop nets and the cleaning up of the area behind the board sheds to utilize as a warm-up pitching station.

Treasurer’s Report (The following is an expense overview from the 2020 calendar year).

• Income - $65,607

• $41,492 registration

• $11,052 fundraising 

• $4,000 poker tournament

• $2,400 pocketbook raffle

• $2,100 hosting tournaments (2)

• Expenses - $57,866

• $13,301 field maintenance

• $8,971 Insurance

• $5,562 apparel

• $3,650 – umpires

• $3,600 – refunds

• Net Profit - $7,741

Clinics (all costs assumed  by CGSB)

• Skills clinic at the instructional and pee wee levels (3/14,3/21,3/28,4/11)

• Pitching clinic at the pee wee level (3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/11)

• Clinics to be looked into for minors and majors levels.

Fundraiser

• 2021 raffle flier shared and prize packages revealed.

• Winners drawn at the last game of the season.

• Specifics forthcoming.

Safety Protocols

• Reviewed with all managers regarding wearing masks, taking temperatures and having one-time waivers signed (to be distributed).

• Sanitizer, thermometers (with backup batteries) and ice packs are stocked in  boxes at each field.

Important Dates 

• Opening Day – Saturday, April 10th

• Picture Day – Wednesday, April 14th (Individual pictures taken for team picture).

• Picnic – As of now, tentative.  We will receive further guidance from town officials and act in accordance.

Q and A

• Time was allotted to address questions both asked and from the chat thread.  Topics discussed included the opening day parade, the expanding of Clark softball apparel, indoor/outdoor practice schedules and the expanding of pitching clinics to the minors level (a topic addressed earlier in the meeting).

Board Election

• All meeting participants voted for three out of four candidates via Google Form.

• J. Hoff, T. Deluca, R. DeJesus, S. Giglio 

• T. Deluca and J. Hoff re-elected.

• R. DeJesus elected to 4-year term.
