About Us
Subscribe to our NewsletterThe mission of the Franklin County Junior Golf Foundation is to stimulate interest and awareness in the game of golf among the youth of Franklin County, Missouri; to provide a soft competition giving area juniors a chance to experience competition in a fun and learning atmosphere; to coordinate junior golf activities in the Franklin County area, including but not limited to clinics, lessons and tournaments.
The Franklin County Junior Golf (FCJG) program was founded in 2011, through the collective efforts of the staffs at Wolf Hollow Golf Club, Franklin County Country Club, and Meramec Lakes Golf Course. In 2011, the program held several clinics, staffed by PGA Professionals and other volunteers, and ran 3 tournaments for children ages 6-14. In 2012, Sullivan Country Club joined the foundation and hosted one of the four junior tournaments.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and our fundraiser tournaments since 2012, we were able to raise over $20,000 to help fund our junior golf initiatives. We have used most of the proceeds to purchase a set of SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment. This set has large colorful giant-headed clubs and oversized balls, as well as targets and other equipment designed to get kids interested and excitied about golf. We are working with local schools to get them interested in offering this introductory system into their Physical Education curriculum. In addition, we will be able to fund other projects that may arise to further our Junior Golf program.
