Q) Where do you post information? Please check our Facebook Page for current news (cancelled games, picture schedule, in-person registration date, etc) More questions? Send us a message.
Q) When is registration? Registration starts online on February 1st and ends on April 1st. In-person registration will be held in March for one (1) day. Please note and honor the close date, and don't ask us to accept late registrations. Registration is open for 2 months. It takes a solid month to form teams (with 600+ players), fulfill the uniform order with our vendor, train 30+ umpires, place 60+ coaches, find 30+sponsors, and get our 14 fields ready to play. A lot of time and moving parts are happening in the background by volunteers. Some divisions may remain open to fill teams.

Q) What is the age cut-off for my child? The age cut-off date is May 1st. They cannot be older than the age division they are playing in before this date. Children also must be three (3) by May 1st in order to participate.
Q) Can my child move up a division? Of course! We do ask that your child has played in a league before and you feel they’re ready.
Q) What happens if there is thunder, lightning, a downpour, or an increased heat index? The league will notify the COACHES and community if the games are canceled. Please do not message us regarding the weather. This is a summer league, it will be hot. We will try to play if possible and will try to hold off on calling games until 1 hour before. Weather can be unpredictable. We will not call games for anticipated storms. We will NOT make up games, unless it our tournament/playoffs. (13/16u softball and 13/15u baseball play by other leagues' rules and they DO make up games.)
Q) What fields do we play at? We play at Eastview Park, Springview Elementary, Central Elementary, Flushing Middle School and the Water Tower next to Springview. A map is available on our website.
Q) Where are your fields? Do some divisions travel?
Tball and 7/8u baseball is typically played at Eastview, off Coutant Street. Tball is also played at the Watertower, off Sunnyside Drive.
9/10u baseball is typically played at Springview, off Springview Drive.
7/9u softball, 10/12u softball and 11/12u baseball is played at Central, off of Countant Street.
13/15u baseball is played at FMS, off Carpenter Rd, and also in Swartz Creek at their fields (some travel is required). Swartz Creek creates the schedule for 13/15u baseball and we follow their rules.
13/16u softball is played at FMS, off Carpenter Rd, as well as in Davison and Elba (some travel is required). Davison creates the schedule for 13/15u softball and we follow their rules.
Q) Which divisions are coach pitch? 5/6 Tball is coach pitch. Players will receive 3 coach pitches. If they are not succcessful, they will then be given the T. They are able to hit off the T unlimited times until they are successful. 7/9U softball and 7/8U baseball are also coach pitch. A player is out after 6 pitches or 3 swinging strikes.
Q) What does "Parent Participation" mean? In Tball your child may need help remaining in position when fielding. They may also need help putting on their gear to get ready to bat. In any other divisision, parent participation would be assisting the coach as needed.
Q) When are pictures? Coaches and players will be notified of the picture schedule when it is set. Times will be given to help mitigate lines. If your time does not work for your schedule, you are welcome to come any time during the picture window. The schoole will be posted on the Facebook page and the website. We are doing pictures INDOORS this year. There will be ONE date and ONE makeup date offered. If you are not photographed by makeup date, your child will NOT be in the team picture. Pictures are not to be scheduled through Alterternative. Please do not plan on a private photo shoot, in-studio, with AP. They cannot accommodate the size of our league with private in-studio shoots. If you miss the date, please attend the make up date offered. You will receive a link with your child's picture proofs within 48 hours. We send AP the phone number/email you register with. If that's not accurate, you will not receive the link. If you do not receive a link, please email AP: info@ap.com
Q) Do I have to live in Flushing to join? No, Flushing is a great community that welcomes all families into our league.
Q) How do I sponsor a team? You can fill out a sponsor form online or fill one out at our in-person registration. Make sure we have a copy of your business card and/or logo (black and white, and color). You can sponsor more than one team.
Q) How much is it to sponsor a team? $300.00. We start receiving sponsorships in December/January
Q) Can I pick the color of the jerseys for the team I sponsor? Absolutely! Please see the color choices on our registration form. You may select one color for jerseys and one color for vinyl. If you're wanting to sponsor a 13/16u softball team, their jerseys are different colors. Please scroll down to their color choices.
Q) How much is it for my child to play? $75.00 for the first, $60.00 for each additional.
Q) Do you offer refunds? You can purchase insurance when you register for $6 to cover you if your child gets injured, death of a family member or if you move. Otherwise we do not offer refunds.
Q) What does my child need to have to play? We recommend they have their own bat, helmet, glove, and MOLDED cleats (no metal cleats). You will also need to provide pants. The coach will pick the color and inform parents. We provide all the catcher gear and game balls. A protective cup is required for all boys playing above the t-ball division. Please visit our Rules Page for specific age level rules and requirements. 13/16u softball and 15u baseball can wear metal cleats.
Q) When should I hear from a coach? Our goal is to have all coaches established by the last week in April and for all players to hear from their coach by the first week in May. If you have not heard from your child's coach by the first week in May, please reach out. There is no need to reach out before May 1st. We send the coach the phone number/email you register with. If that's not accurate, you will not hear from them. Please be mindful that we have all the information correct on your registration.
Q) When will my child receive their uniform? Coaches will pick up their team's uniforms the week of the first GAME. If your child's uniform does not fit, it is the parent's financial responsibility to pay to have it replaced. If the league ordered the wrong size, we will pay to have it replaced. We will check the registration form to see what was order. It is not an instant turn around to receive a new uniform. Please be mindful when ordering to select either YOUTH or ADULT. If you are not sure what size to order, please attend our in-person registration to try on uniforms.
Q) Do jerseys have names on the back? No and they cannot be added. We represent the sponsor we helped pay for us to play.
Q) When is the tournament/playoffs? Playoffs will be played the following week after the last scheduled regular season games. If you do not attend the playoff games, it could cause your team to have to forfeit. This does not apply to T-Ball
Q) Can I request what team my child plays on? Yes! We will do our best to accommodate requests for all players; however, these requests are NOT guaranteed. If you want to have your son/daughter on the same team as another player, we encourage you to sign up as a coach. Each team is allowed to select two assistant coaches. This does not apply to siblings. *PLEASE NOTE ALL REQUESTS ON THE REGISTRATION!*
Q) Does my child have to attend practice? Attending practice and games is expected. You are making a commitment to a team and the players are relying on their teammates to be there. It is important that teams have enough players to play. Please communicate with your coach if your child is ill or if you have a planned vacation.
Q) Why do we not have concessions, dug outs, bleachers, etc? Our fields are owned by The City of Flushing and Flushing Community Schools. All field improvements must be approved by these stakeholders. More questions? Send us a message.
Q) What are you doing about mosquitoes and ticks? Our fields are owned by The City of Flushing and Flushing Community Schools. We cannot treat the fields for these natural occurances. Please take your own precautions. More questions? Please contact The City of Flushing or Flushing Community Schools.
Q) Can I have assistant coaches and if so, how many? We allow each coach to have two assistants. If a sponsor wants to help the coach, that will be counted as one assistant.
Q) How do I sign up to umpire? Fill out an umpire form on the Welcome page of our website. More questions? Send us a message.
Q) Where do coaches send their scores from the games to? Coaches send their scores to flushingscores@yahoo.com!
