The Lancers had a regular season record of 15-7, including a 6-game winning streak heading into playoff weekend.

The Lancers defence was solid behind Amanda Simke’s strong pitching performance and the Lancers held on for the 1-0 win.
On Saturday morning, the Lancers faced Guelph in a very rainy and muddy game. Down 2-0 in the 3rd inning, Windsor scored two runs to tie the game on a double by Brie Balzer. The game remained knotted at two until the 5th inning when the Lancers exploded for five runs. Windsor put the game away for good in the 6th inning, scoring two more runs to make the score 9-2 and end the game on the run rule. Balzer earned the complete game victory on the mound.
Immediately following the Guelph game, the Lancers faced the three-time defending national and provincial champions, Western. With their bats hot coming off of the Guelph game, Windsor entered the game looking to take down the defending champs. After playing a strong half inning, there was a three-hour rain delay which resulted in moving to a diamond across the city. Unfortunately, the delay and wet conditions got the best of the team, and the Lancers fell 15-0 to Western.
Despite the loss, Windsor’s 2-1 record earned them the 2nd seed in their pool moving into playoff rounds on Sunday.
The Lancers faced Waterloo, the 3rd seed going into the tournament, in the quarterfinals on Sunday morning. Windsor loaded the bases twice in the game, but was unable to get a key hit when needed and fell to Waterloo 5-0.
