Coach Valencia, enters his 14th season as the head coach of the Terrier Baseball program. The Terriers finished the 2018 campaign at 23-7. In This past season Coach Valencia earned his 200th victory at Redlands High School. The Terriers finished in the top 4 of the division 3 CIF-SS tournament. This is the most successful season that the Terriers have had in 35 years at Redlands High School. In 2013, Coach Valencia led the Terriers to their 2nd Citrus Belt League title in 3 years. The Terriers were 19-6 and played in the Southern Section play-offs for the 7th consecutive year. Coach Valencia was instrumental in placing everyone of his graduating Seniors into a college baseball program. He also had his first MLB draft pick, when the Houston Astros selected catcher Jacob Nottingham in the 6th round. The Terriers finished the 2012 season at 24-6 on their way to the 3rd round of the CIF Play offs. The Terriers were the Salpointe Lancer Classic Champions in Tucson Arizona. Coach Valencia recorded his RHS 100th win over Yucaipa High School at the County Clash. In 2011, Coach Valencia help guide the Terriers to one of their most successful seasons in nearly 30 years. The Terriers finished 24-5, won the Citrus Belt League title and lost in the Quarter Finals of the CIF play-offs, losing to eventual finalist Etwianda 4-3. Prior to his arrival, Coach Valencia served as an assistant coach at UC Riverside from 2001 to 2005. Before coming to UC Riverside, he was the lead assistant and recruiting coodinator at Cal State East Bay from 1998 to 2001. At both collegiate stops, Coach Valencia helped each school reach the NCAA Western Regionals. Coach Valencia also managed in the prestigious Northwoods League, a collegiate summer league for some of the top division I baseball players in the country. Coach Valencia was the manager of the La Crosse Loggers for 2 seasons; 2003 and 2004. He lead the Loggers to their first ever Division Championship in 2004. In the summer of 2005 Coach Valencia became the manager of the Palm Springs Power, another collegiate summer league. For the next 4 summers, He lead the Power to 3 Championships and an 11th place finish in the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas. Coach Valencia has coached over 25 players who are currently playing professional baseball. Coach Valencia also teaches World and U.S History at Redlands High School.
Bill Havard, Asst. Coach.
Coach Havard is entering his 12th season as Coach Valencia's number 1 assistant. Coach Havard has over 30 year of coaching and teaching experience. Coach Havard works with the catchers, hitters, and coaches 3rd base on game day. Coach Havard has had numerous head coaching jobs in the San Bernardino/Redlands area. He was also the head coach at the University of Redlands. Coach Havard is also a retired math teacher who taught at Redlands High School for over 30 years.
Gary Pool, Pitching Coach.
Coach Pool is entering his 13th season as the pitching coach for the Terrier Baseball program. Coach Pool has over 20 years of coaching experience. Coach Pool is a Redlands High School Alum, who played at San Bernardino Valley College, the University of Redlands, and then signed with the Oakland Athletics.
Eric Memory, Asst. Coach. Coach Memory enters his 5th season with the Terriers. He will be in charge of coaching the outfielders and working at 1st base. He will also be in charge of defensive placement during the games as well. Coach Memory teaches math at Redlands High School.
Greg Brock, Asst. Coach. Coach Brock was promoted to a Varsity assistant coach in 2013. Coach Brock was the Head JV coach 3 seasons. Coach Brock will work with the infielders, hitters and defensive placement on game days. Coach Brock is a graduate of Redlands high School, were he was an All-CBL baseball and football player.
