There was a Home Run Derby held on Saturday afternoon. After three tie-breakers, Shane Christensen narrowly beat out Lonnie Eggert to come away with the title and new bat.
The tournament could not have been as successful without the help of the following people who donated their time to umpire the games, sometimes during the only break they had from playing in the tournament as well: David Nuzum, Ali Kimmel, Kelly McDonald, Stewart Curry, Brandon Curry, Keith Simmons, Troy Larson and Jamie Jackman. An extra special thank you to Andy Vogel, who umped the entire tournament with very few breaks and was happy to do so to memorialize his former teammate, Paul Betz.
I would also like to thank Stacie Burke for her assistance with various tasks throughout the whole weekend. She was a lifesaver!
All proceeds from the tournament went to the American Cancer Society.
