The 2018 Women's League concluded on July 18, 2018.  At the conclusion of the season, there was a tie between Tillamook Merchants and Werner's Gourmet Meat Snacks for 1st place.  Since a day for a playoff game couldn't be agreed upon by the teams, the decision was made to end with a tie and share first place.

The 2017 Women's League concluded on July 10, 2017 after a playoff game between Werner's Gourmet Meat Snacks and Tillamook Merchants.  After an exciting back and forth game, Tillamook Merchants came out with a 17-10 win.  Below are the final league standings:

There was a three-way tie in the Homerun Derby between Ivan & Amy from Oregon Coast Properties and Will Reynolds from Lucky Logger. The men had to hit it over the 275 foot fence and the women had to hit it 225 feet. Out of 10 hits, each had three homeruns in the first round. After the first tie-breaker with 10 more hits, each had 2 homeruns. For the second tie-breaker, they were only given 5 hits and no homeruns were hit. Third tie-breaker was 3 hits and Ivan & Will each hit 1 homerun. Amy was knocked out of the contest. For the final tie-breaker, each batter was given 1 pitch. Whoever hit it the furthest, won a 2010 DeMarini J2 Juggernaut bat. Ivan’s hit was about 5 feet further than Will’s to declare him the winner.

There was a Home Run Derby held on Saturday afternoon. After three tie-breakers, Shane Christensen narrowly beat out Lonnie Eggert to come away with the title and new bat.

The tournament could not have been as successful without the help of the following people who donated their time to umpire the games, sometimes during the only break they had from playing in the tournament as well: David Nuzum, Ali Kimmel, Kelly McDonald, Stewart Curry, Brandon Curry, Keith Simmons, Troy Larson and Jamie Jackman. An extra special thank you to Andy Vogel, who umped the entire tournament with very few breaks and was happy to do so to memorialize his former teammate, Paul Betz.

I would also like to thank Stacie Burke for her assistance with various tasks throughout the whole weekend. She was a lifesaver!

All proceeds from the tournament went to the American Cancer Society.
