League Game vs. Pleasant Panthers

June 5, 2001
John Flanagan has been named Player of the Game. Although he only played 4 innings he had a great attitude, was willing to do what ever needed to be done, contributed as a Left Fielder, and drove in a run on a Fielder's Choice. Honorable Mention goes to Luke Miller for understanding when I had to use the re-entry rule to lift him after only being in the game for 1 out for Alex Rodriguez to provide relief pitching.

Exhibition Game vs. Ivy Hill Rec (16U)

Ed Vargas has been named Player of the Game. He pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief recording 2 K's and no hits, walks, or runs. He also went 3 for 4, scored twice, had 3 RBI's, and stole 2 bases. Honorable Mention goes to Ryan Abrams for going 2 for 4 including a double, 2 RBI's, and 2 stolen bases. He also pitched 1/2 inning of relief.

League Game vs. Norris Square Angels

Johnny Marrero has been named Player of the Game. He pitched 6 consecutive scoreless innings before giving up the only run in the top of the 7th. Johnny also struck out 10 batters and only gave up 3 hits. Honorable Mention goes to Ed Vargas for going 2 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored, 1 walk, and 4 RBI's as the leadoff hitter. Also John Flanagan goes 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI.

League Game vs. Lighthouse

Josh DeBeary has been named Player of the Game. He transitioned from Catcher to Shortstop and Outfield during this game. Josh also went 4 for 4 with a double, 1 SB, 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI. Honorable Mention goes to Alex Rodriguez for pitching 4 innings with giving up only 2 runs while striking out 4. At the plate he contributed a Sacrifice Bunt and Sacrificed again resulting in an error and a total of 3 RBI's. Also Billy Johnson arrived as our 7th player before forfeit time and went 1 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI's.

Exhibition Game vs. Philadelphia A's AAU

Brian Brooks has been named Player of the Game. He pitched 6 1/3 innings recording 13 K's and only gave up 2 runs and 2 walks. He also singled in a run in the 6th inning. Honorable Mention goes to Billy Johnson for going 2 for 4 including a solo HR, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

League Game vs. Norris Square Angels

Johnny Marrero has been named Player of the Game. He pitched a complete game shutout with with 14 K's , only 2 hits, and 0 walks. Johnny also went 1 for 2 with 1 run, 2 walks, and 2 SB. Honorable Mention goes to Alex Rodriguez with a great line drive catch, going 2 for 3 with 2 runs, 1 SB, and 1 walk.

League Game vs. Pleasant Panthers

Once again Billy Johnson has been named Player of the Game. He was the winning pitcher while striking out 9 players in a complete official 5 inning game. Billy only allowed 2 runs and 2 walks. Offensively he scored twice, walked once, singled, and stole two bases. Honorable Mention goes to Raymond Figueroa who went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, 3 walks, and 4 RBI's. Also Shane O'Connor went 3 for 4 including 2 bunt singles and stole 3 bases.

League Game vs. Overbrook

Johnny Marrero has been named Player of the Game. He received a no-decision as the starting pitcher with 6 K's , 2 runs, and 1 earned runs (1.62 ERA) in 4 1/3 innings. Johnny also went 1 for 3 with 3 RBI's and 1 SB. He caught a game saving line drive catch for the 3rd out of the 6th inning.

League Game vs. Pleasant Panthers

Billy Johnson has been named Player of the Game. He showed true loyalty by arriving all the way from Malvern Prep H.S. to be our 8th player in the 2nd inning. This helped relieve a stressful situation. He went 1 for 1 with a bases loaded clearing triple for 3 RBI's. He also scored twice, stole twice (including home), and walked once.

Exhibition vs. Harlem RBI Grays

Alex Rodriguez has been named Player of the Game. He picked up the complete game win with 3 R, 3 ER, and 7 K's. Despite giving up 10 hits and a balk, he kept it close by also picking off 2 baserunners. Honorable Mention goes to John Flanagan (after coming off his loss in the 1st game). He went 2 for 3 with a walk, 2 SB, 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. Flanagan also provided the assist for several of the forces at 2B and the putout on one of the pickoffs.

Exhibition vs. Elmwood Park (SW Suns)

Brian Brooks has been named Player of the Game. Although his pitching kept the game close, he still picked up the win and also went 2 for 4 at the plate with 1 run. Honorable Mention goes to Brian Poore. He went 1 for 3 with a triple, a walk, 1 SB, 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Poore also blocked several pitches.

John Flanagan has been named Player of the Game. He picked up the complete game win (due to time limit-only 6 innings) with 3 R, 1 ER, and 10 K's. He also went 1 for 3 with 1 double. Honorable Mention goes to Luke Miller who went 1 for 3 with a walk, 1 SB, and 3 runs scored. He also provided relief catching duties for the last 4 innings of this game.

Alex Rodriguez has been named Player of the Game. He picked up the complete game win with 1 R, 0 ER, and 5 K's. He also went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored, a sacrifice bunt, and 2 RBI's. Honorable Mention goes to Ed Vargas who went 3 for 5 with a double and 1 run scored. Also Raymond Figueroa who went 3 for 3 with a tripple, 2 RBI's, and 1 walk. Raymond was also the starting catcher for this game.

Billy Johnson has been named Player of the Game. He had a quality pitching start with 1 R, 0 ER, and 8 K's in 4 1/3 innings in this no-decision. Honorable Mention goes to Dan Beerhalter who went 1 for 2 with a double, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Also Jeff Coles who went 1 for 1, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 stolen bases, a sac bunt, and scored the winning run from 3B in the bottom of the 7th with an errant pick off attempt at 1B.

Raymond Figueroa has been named Player of the Game. He fulfilled as catcher in the absence of our other catchers and called a good game. He also went 2 for 3 with 3 runs and 2 RBI's. Honorable Mention goes to Randall Eggleton who went 2 for 3, 2 walks, and 2 RBI's. Also John Flannagan who went 2 for 5 with a double, and 3 RBI's.

Honorable Mention goes to Brian Brooks who went 2 for 4 with a triple, 2 runs, 1 walk, and 2 RBI's. Also Brian Poore who went 2 for 3 with a double, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 4 RBI's.

Brian Brooks has been named Player of the Game. He continued to come out of his slump going 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Brian also has a key catch in the 3rd inning in LF with bases loaded and 2 outs. Honorable Mention goes to Alex Rodriguez for pitching 4 innings with giving up only 1 run while striking out 3. At the plate he draws 2 walks, an RBI, 1 stolen base, and scores 2 runs.
