Ippon Judo Dojo offers coed classes for students six years old and up. We encourage families to join and participate in judo together. Ages 6-12 practice from 7pm to 8pm and ages 13-adult practice from 8pm to 9:30pm on Monday and Wednesday nights. In both classes some activities and instruction are done all together, and some are separated by skill level. For adults and teens who are serious about judo and have reached an appropriate skill level, we offer an advanced Sunday afternoon work-out.
We welcome people of all ages to join judo just for fun or to get in better shape and to learn. Competition in tournaments is not required. However, many of our members are active and accomplished competitors, and our black belts take care to train, instruct, and accompany as coaches those who choose to enter tournaments. We keep our members informed of upcoming opportunities for tournaments and clinics, and encourage our members to visit and practice with other judo clubs and schools if they wish to. There are opportunities for beginners of all ages, including adult beginners to compete locally. Some of our more advanced youth and adults compete nationally and internationally.
