Snowman Yards Ground Rules
Ground Rule 1: Homeruns
Ground Rule 1.0: Any ball hit off the roof raised above the family room may be caught, and if caught, will result in an out, although if not caught, will be ruled a homerun.
Ground Rule 1.1: Any ball hit on or over the batting cage is a homerun.
Ground rule 1.2: Any ball hit off the foul pole, which is the three trees on the right field line, above the height of the wall, will be a homerun, although if the ball is caught of the foul pole it will be ruled an out.
Ground Rule 1.3: Any ball hit into the trees (That doesn’t come out), on the fly, at a decent height, will be ruled a homerun.
Ground Rule 1.4: Any ball that goes over the corner of the roof will not be ruled a homerun. It can still be caught and will remain an out.
Ground Rule 1.5: If the ball goes over the stonewall past the foul pole it is a homerun.
Ground Rule 1.6: Any ball hit into the backboard/rim or over the backboard is a live ball and the ball is in play providing that no other rules come into effect.
Ground Rule 1.7: Any ball hit into the basketball hoop will result in that team scoring 10 runs and MOST LIKELY an automatic win for that team. (only if the other team forfeits)
Ground Rule 2: Dead Balls
Ground Rule 2.0: Any ball hit into the trees (that stays in the trees) is a dead ball, and a ground rule double or homerun.
Ground Rule 2.1: Any ball that bounces and goes over any wall, (legally) will be ruled a ground rule double.
Ground Rule 2.2: A ball thrown to the backstop in attempt to get a runner out a home will result in all runners getting the base that they are going to. EXCEPTION: If a runner is standing on a base, and not showing any sign that he is going to the the next base, he will remain on that base.
Ground Rule 2.3: Any ball thrown that goes under the deck will be ruled a dead ball, and all runners will get the base that they are going to, and the next base.
SCENARIO: If a runner is 1 step away from second base, he gets second base, and third base, because he hasn’t yet established second base.
Ground Rule 2..4 Any batted ball that goes under the deck will be ruled foul.
Ground Rule 3: Fair/Foul
Ground Rule 3.1: Any ball hit off the right field foul pole, above the height of the wall, is ruled a homerun. (There is no left field foul pole)
Ground Rule 3.2: Any ball hit straight back into the strike zone will be ruled a foul tip, therefore it will result in a strike despite how many strikes there are on the batter
Ground Rule 3.3: Any ball hit off the roof in foul territory MAY be caught. (No balls may be caught off of the umbrella.
Ground Rule 3.4: Any ball hit over the house will be ruled fair or foul by the official scorer.
Ground Rule 3.5: Any ball hit off the scoreboard is foul.
Ground Rule 3.6: Any ball hit in the gutter (in fair territory) is a fair ball, AND A HOME RUN.
Ground Rule 3.7: Any ball that hits the scorer’s table is foul.
SCENARIO: If the fielder runs into the scorer’s table in attempt to catch a fly ball, it will be ruled foul and no interference will be called.
