5th Terriers' Player Makes His MLB Debut!

Perci Garner (Dover High School/Ball State University) made his Major League debut last night for the Cleveland Indians! Perci is the 5th Terriers' player to make it to the Majors! Click here to watch an interview.

The four other Terriers' players who made it to the Majors:

Dirk Hayhurst (Canton South/Kent State University) — Dirk is currently an author and broadcaster, and formerly a professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the San Diego Padres in 2008 and for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009.

Josh Anderson (Eastern Kentucky) — Josh is a retired Major League Baseball outfielder. He played college baseball at Eastern Kentucky University and was drafted in the 4th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Houston Astros. He has played for the Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals.

Burke Badenhop (Bowling Green) — Burke is currently a free agent. He has played for the Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds.

Nolan Reimold (Bowling Green) — Nolan is an outfielder who has been with the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball since 2015.

Career Highlights: 2004South Atlantic League All-Star, 2006 Texas League All-Star and also named 2006 Texas League All-Star Game MVP

Currently on Houston Astros 40 Man Roster, Played 31 games with Astros between 2006-2007

 

Burke Badenhop (2003 Terriers) 

Drafted: 19th Round 2005 Draft by the Detroit Tigers

Currently Playing: High A Lakeland Tigers (Florida State League)

 

Chris Barnwell (1999 Terriers)

Drafted: 25th Round of 2001 Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers

Currently Playing: AAA Nashville Sounds (Pacific Coast League)

Major League Experience: Played 13 games at SS-3B for the Brewers in 2006

 

Ronnie Bourquin (2004 & 2005 Terriers) 

Drafted: 2nd Round of the 2006 Draft by the Detroit Tigers

Currently Playing: High A Lakeland (Florida State League)

 

Chris Bova (2002 & 2003 Terriers)

Drafted: 36th round of the 2004 draft by the St. Louis Cardinals

Career in Minors: Chris went 1-4 with a 3.76 ERA in one minor league season

Highest Level: New York Penn League

 

Matt Brumit (2000 & 2001 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 44th Round of the 2002 Draft by the New York Yankees

Career in Minors: Went 18-13 with a 3.54 ERA over 4 Minor League seasons.

Highest Level: 2005 with the Tama Yankees (High A Affiliate of the Yankees in the Florida State League)

 

Brandon Caipen (2005 Terriers)

Drafted: Selected in the 28th Round of the 2006 draft by the Houston Astros

Currently Playing: Started season in the Northwest League with short-season Tri-City before getting promoted to A ball with Lexington in the South Atlantic League.

 

Ryan Campbell (2005 Terriers)

Drafted: Free Agent Signee by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2005

Minor League Career: Pitched one season with Johnson city in the Appalachian League. He went 4-2 with a 6.33 ERA in 20 games.

 

Andrew Davis (2004 Terriers)

Drafted: Selected in the 12th round of the 2007 draft by the San Francisco Giants

 

Aaron Gangi (2003 Terriers)

Drafted: Selected in the 14th Round of the 2003 draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays

Minor League Career: Played a total of four minor league seasons with the Devil Rays organization. Had a career record of 12-15 with a 5.75 ERA. He last played in 2006 in the Independent Northern League with Edmonton.

 

Andy Hawanick (2005 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 48th round of the 2005 draft by the Chicago Cubs

 

Dirk Hayhurst (2000 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 8th round of the 2003 draft by the San Diego Padres

Currently Playing: Dirk began the 2007 season in the California League and was promoted to Double A San Antonio before getting promoted to AAA Portland in the Pacific Coast League.

 

Gus Hlebovy (2003 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 22nd round by the Montreal Expos in the 2003 draft.

Minor League Career: Last played in 2006 in the South Atlantic League with Savannah.

He went 7-5 with a 3.29 ERA in four minor league seasons.

 

Kelly Hunt (2001 & 2002 Terriers)

Drafted: Selected in the 29th round of the 2003 draft by the Detroit Tigers

Minor League Career: Played four Minor League seasons while making it to AA Erie in 2006. Hit .243 with 63 HR and 261 RBI over his four seasons in the Tigers organization.

 

Corey Loomis (2001 Terriers)

Drafted: Selected in the 38th round by the Detroit Tigers in 1999 (Did Not Sign) Selected in the 21st round of the 2002 draft by the Detroit Tigers (signed)

Minor League Career: Played one season in the New York Penn League with Oneonta and also played one season in the Frontier League. Hit .231 with 4 home runs, 47 RBI and 10 triples in two seasons.

 

Matt Lorenzo (2001 & 2002 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 5th round of the 2003 Draft by the Texas Rangers

Transactions: Traded to Atlanta on July 21, 2005 for Kevin Gryboski

Currently Playing: Began the 2007 season with the Single A Hickory Braves in the South Atlantic League. Has also appeared with AA Altoona in 2006.

 

Sean Luellwitz (1999 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 28th round of the 2002 draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks

Minor League Career: Last played in 2004 with AA El Paso in the Texas League. He appeared in 308 minor league games over three seasons. He hit .267 with 32 HR and 161 RBI during his three year career. He also appeared in two games in 2004 with the Arizona Diamondbacks but walked in his only at bat.

 

Brian Lynch (2001 & 2002 Terriers) 

Drafted: Selected in the 23rd round of the 2003 draft by the Colorado Rockies.

Minor League Career: Played two seasons while making it as high as the High A Affiliate in Visalia of the California League. He went 5-8 with a 4.31 in 50 games (21 starts) in two professional seasons.
