Majors and below:
The bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be labeled with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less; Bats do not have to have a Little League Approved notation, but the must have a BPF of 1.15 or less marked on the bat. Bats labeled “Tee Ball” that have the 1.15 BPF can be used at any level by Little League rules, but it is highly recommended that they aren’t used above Farm level. This is recommended because they are usually made of softer material and will easily dent and become unusable.
EXCEPTION: For the Little League (Majors) and below, for regular season play and Tournament, composite bats are prohibited unless approved by Little League International. A list is provided below.
Junior League:
The bat shall not be more than 34 inches in length; nor more than 2 5/8 inches in diameter, and if wood, not less than fifteen-sixteenths (15/16) inches in diameter (7/8 inch for bats less than 30”) at its smallest part. All composite barrel bats shall meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard, and such bats shall be so labeled with a silkscreen or other permanent certification mark. The certification mark shall be rectangular, a minimum of a half-inch on each side and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color. If there are no BBCOR markings, the bat cannot be used. It is the managers’ responsibility to ensure that the all bats meet Little League requirements.

Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.20. Bats may be taped or fitted with a sleeve for a distance not exceeding 16 inches from the small end. Colored bats are acceptable. A non-wood bat must have a grip of cork, tape or composition material, and must extend a minimum of 10 inches from the small end. Slippery tape or similar material is prohibited. It is the managers’ responsibility to ensure that the all bats meet Little League requirements.
Approved Composite Bats
If the composite bat is not listed below, it is not approved by Little League International to be used. Use of an illegal bat will result in the ejection of the manager from the game. It is the managers’ responsibility to ensure that the all bats meet Little League requirements.
