Coach Rick Ramaley's assistant coach for 2009 - 2010 was
Jason Brothers - he is from Ottawa, Ontario and played college hockey at
SUNY-Pottsdam.
Coach Rick Ramaley is pleased to announce the addition of former
Columbia Inferno player Robin Carruthers to the Fusion coaching staff. Robin played three seasons for Columbia from 2002 thru 2005 when the Inferno were Southern Division regular season champions each year, including their trip to the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals in 2003.
Robin began his career by playing Junior Hockey in Nipawin,Saskatchewan for three years. He earned a scholarship to St Lawrence University, where
he played on two ECAC Championship teams and three NCAA tournament teams.
His greatest moment came as a member of the SLU team that advanced to the Frozen Four. In the longest game in NCAA tournament history (4OT), Robin scored the game winning goal against future NHL goaltender Rick DiPietro of Boston University during the finals of the East Regional.
Robin and his wife Robin (yes, she has the same first name) and their
dog NOLA reside in Columbia, where he is employed by First Citizens
Securities.
