NICHOLASVILLE PANTHERS YOUTH FOOTBALL
CODE OF CONDUCT

The Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football program is dedicated to providing opportunities for young football players to improve their physical fitness, develop athletic skills and participate in a team sport. Emphasis is placed on fun, individual and team participation.

All players, parents or guardians, team volunteers, spectators and coaches are expected to maintain and demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout their association with Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football. The objective of this Code of Conduct is to encourage standards of behavior and positive attitudes while ensuring due process for misconduct.

Any team representative, coach, parent or guardian, team volunteer, official opponent, or Director may initiate an investigation by notifying the Directors of any incident by players, parents or guardians, coaches, officials, team volunteers or Directors, that they believe violates any part of the Code of Conduct.

PLAYER
1. Use of alcohol, tobacco and controlled or illegal substances is prohibited.
1.1 Parents or guardians of the player will be notified as soon as possible by the team coach or team representative.
1.2 A meeting will be scheduled with the player, parents or guardians, the team coaches and team representative to investigate the specific violation.
1.3 The team coach or team representative notifies the Directors.
1.4 If the Directors determines that a Section 1 violation has occurred, the Directors may impose on of the following punishments:
1.4.1 Suspension for one or a specified number of games.
1.4.2 Suspension for the remainder of the current season. Reinstatement must be approved by the Directors prior to the start of the next season.
1.4.3 Permanent suspension from Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football

2. Unlawful and unacceptable conduct is prohibited, including:
A. Any deliberate abuse of equipment or facilities, at home, or at away games.
B. Theft, damage or abuse of equipment or personal possessions of any other player, opponent, parent or guardian, coach, team volunteer, official, or member of the Directors.
C. Fighting, unsafe, intimidating, disruptive or abusive behavior.
2.1 Parents or guardians of the player will be notified as soon as possible by the team coaches or team representative.
2.2 A meeting will be scheduled with the player, parents or guardians, the team coaches and team representatives to investigate the specific violation.
2.3 The team coach or team representative notifies the Directors.
2.4 If the Directors determine that a Section 2 violation has occurred, the Directors may impose on of the following punishments:
2.4.1 Suspension from one game for the first offence with reinstatement contingent upon any necessary restitution for the repair or replacing of damaged equipment, facilities or personal possessions.
2.4.2 Suspension for three games for the second offense with reinstatement contingent upon any necessary restitution for the repair or replacement of damaged equipment, facilities or personal possessions.

3. Required personal conduct:
3.1 Displaying a positive, cooperative, respectful attitude and good sportsmanship.
3.2 No swearing, taunting, derogatory comments or gestures or disrespectful conduct toward players, opponents, parents or guardians, coaches, team volunteers, officials, or members of the Directors on or off the field.
3.3 Following team and league rules and the directions of coaches and officials promptly and without complaint.
3.4 Appropriate behavior while being transported for all NPYF activities.
3.5 Attendance at all practices and games. If unable to attend, players must notify the coach ahead of time.
3.6 Wearing of required equipment to all practices, scrimmages and games.
3.7 Acceptance of game outcomes and decisions.
3.8 If the team coaches, team representative and/or Directors determine that a Section 3 violation has occurred, they may impose one of the following punishments:
3.8.1 Suspension for one quarter for the first offense.
3.8.2 Suspension for one game for the second offense.
3.8.3 Suspension for two or more games for the third offense.
3.8.4 Appropriate action, as determined by the Directors, shall be taken for subsequent offenses.

4. Players will not be allowed to participate on days:
-When serving school detentions
-When serving in or out of school suspensions
-During expulsions
-When they have an unexcused absence from one or more classes
-While truant

5. Full game suspensions will be served at the next game or official scrimmage. Players may not attend practices during game suspensions. Repeated or dangerous actions may be referred directly to the Directors for accelerated disciplinary actions.

PARENT OR GUARDIAN
1. I will be a positive example and conduct myself in a way that is constant with the Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football Code of Conduct.
2. I will encourage my player in a positive manner and emphasize the importance of achieving common goals through teamwork.
3. I will not confuse my player by countermanding the coaches instructions.
4. I will follow team rules, including arrival times and attendance.
5. I will refrain from criticizing officials decisions. If necessary, I will question decisions through the appropriate channels, but not in the presence of the players.
6. I will support the Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football program and become involved by volunteering my time and talents to ensure its continued success.
7. I will provide Nicholasville Panthers Youth Football with truthful and correct information upon enrolling my player.
8. I understand that if my child misses scheduled practices, it may affect his/her playing time/position in a game.
