Dear Parent / Legal Guardian,

My name is Larry Baggitt and I am the Athletic Director at Seton Hall Preparatory School and the director of the Pirate Peak Performance camp. It is that time of the year to set up my summer camps here at The Prep. I own and operate Pirate Peak Performance Camps that specialize in speed, agility, quickness and strength. This is my tenth year as the Director of Athletics and was previously the Certified Athletic Trainer for twenty-one years at The Prep.

The camp will be open to other students and athletes, but I want to give the incoming students an opportunity to register first. The camp will included speed, agility, quickness, and weight training. I just wanted to get this introduction letter out to help you prepare for summer camps.

Each year every camper who attends the camps improves his agility, speed and strength. Every one. The average bench press gains were 30 pounds and the average lower extremity strength gains were 45 pounds! The camps run for 4 weeks. The camp meets twice per week on Tuesday and Thursday at the Kelly Athletic Complex.

We are very fortunate to have our weight room facility at the Kelly Athletic Complex. It is one of the finest at a high school setting. Both camps were a huge success last year (now in our twenty-third year) and we look forward to this summer. If your son misses the first week due to the end of school, another camp or misses for a vacation, make up dates will be attempted.

Our camp will begin this year later as not to interfere (that much) with the football coaches summer camp. The dates are June 25 - July 18. Many of my campers are football (and lax) players so I do want you to know that there should be no conflict, just a session or two where the kids may be tired with back-to-back camps. I always communicate on those days so the other coaches know what I am doing (testing) and will make the needed adjustments. I also coordinate a ride up after basketball camp so parents don’t have to come back for that if your son is attending basketball.

In closing, I have found that the camp is more than a workout for the kids. First, it introduces them to safe and correct lifting techniques that will prepare them for the many sports (and their conditioning programs) here at The Prep. But most importantly, it introduces them to the school and their future classmates and friends. Many have told me that they were far more comfortable entering school in September because of the camps. It is open to the athlete and non-athlete whom may want to introduce themselves to proper weight training and conditioning for their health.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and please don’t hesitate to call me here at the Prep at 973.325.6639 or by email at lbaggitt@shp.org or precisiontrainingcamps@gmail.com.

In good health,
