PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The goal of the Lady Panthers Girls Basketball Association (LPGBA) is to make the sport of Basketball fun and safe for female athletes. LPGBA promotes the values and importance of physical activities in the emotional, physical, social and mental development of female youth. Our program is grounded in both the Servant Leadership and Positive Youth Development theories and is both a Prevention and Life-Skills based program. LPGBA leaders believe that participation in sports builds character, is a great venue to teach life skills, as well as, aids in maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind.
MISSION STATEMENT:
LPGBA leaders and coaching staff will help female youth athletes ages 7-18 to reach their full potential in life by teaching them educational, health and life skills, along with, the skills and development necessary to be successful on the court.
VISION STATEMENT:
Our overall vision is to have a Girls Basketball program whose foundation is based on USA Basketball training and development and whose players are chosen to play on school, USA Basketball, as well as, FIBA and Olympic Basketball teams.
April 10, 2021 was our program’s 11-year anniversary!!
Our USA Basketball-, NCAA-, NAIA-, NFHS-, AAU-, AIC-, CIC-, NAYS- and NAYS Select-trained coaching staff uses the USA Basketball Youth Development Curriculum infused with Positive Coaching Alliance's ELM Mastery concepts. We want our players to master life skills, as well as, their craft and not just focus on winning games at all cost. When they master the skills needed to play the sport of Basketball, they will start to consistently win over a longer period of time than just winning to accomplish one goal (league division win or a tournament game win). This will provide them with steps needed to accomplish life goals set, as well.
In addition to the LPGBA programs coaches, our players are optionally trained by by our awesome coaching staff that includes an ex-international player! We compete in some of the best tournaments in the within the state of Texas, nationally and internationally. Our goal is to provide a program that can consistently compete at the local, regional, state, national and global levels and provide fundamental training for as many players as possible.
We are setup to coach girls ages 5-17 years old. Sometimes, we have as many as 100+ players and sometimes, we may have only 10 players. It depends on the goals of parents and their child’s training needs throughout the year. We are preparing our girls to play for some of the best Junior High and High School programs in the DFW area that will hopefully prepare them to play for college programs at all levels, including Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior College.
