Tyler Kirkwood- Delta College, Robert Morris University- LHP

Tyler is a graduate of Kearsley High School having played for the Bandits and Coach Macko for 8 seasons. Earning a scholarship to Delta College, he starred there for 2 seasons. As a Sophomore at Delta, he led them to their first district and regional titles in program history while setting single season and career strikeout records as a pitcher. He led Delta to a NJCAA World Series berth while wining a game in the College World Series. While at Robert Morris University in Chicago his team went 70-37. Tyler graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.89 cumulative GPA at both schools.

 

 

Nash Irwin- Mott College, Western Michigan University- LHP, 1B, Outfield

Nash is a graduate of Mt. Morris High School having played for the Bandits and Coach Macko and the Bandits for 7 seasons. Prior to his college career, Nash earned All Conference and All State honors as a Left Handed Pitcher and Outfielder. While earning a scholarship to Mott College where he starred for 2 seasons, he completed his education at Western Michigan University studying in their Aerospace program. 

 

Peyton Knoll- Lakeland University, Wisconsin- 2B

Peyton is a graduate of Powers High School having played for the Bandits and Coach Macko for 6 seasons. While earning a scholarship to Lakeland University in Wisconsin, Peyton starred as the Muskies leadoff hitter and 2B. Peyton graduated with a degree in accounting and currently resides in Denver, Colorado.

Brady Sarkon- University of Chicago, Illinois- Inf./C

Brady is a graduate of Linden High School having played for Coach Macko and the Bandits for 2 seasons. While starring on the baseball field at Linden and earning a baseball scholarship to the University of Chicago, Brady was a star football and basketball player at Linden. Brady went on to lead his Maroon baseball team in College for 4 years prior to graduating in 2019. He was a two-time All League, MHSAA 1st Team All Region, Academic All State, 2 year team Captain, and made the Deans list in College, while leading the Maroons in 2019 with a .479 on base percentage and starting every game his Senior season. 

 

 

Jared Elliott- Ohio- C

Jared is a graduate of Birch Run High School having played as the primary catcher for Coach Macko and the Bandits for 4 seasons. Prior to continuing his college career in Ohio, Jared was a multi sport athlete at Birch Run where he starred in Baseball, Football, and Wrestling.

Brandon Berlin- Rochester University- Inf./Of

Brandon is a graduate of North Branch High School having played for Coach Macko and the Bandits for 2 seasons. While starring on the baseball field at North Branch and earning a scholarship to Rochester University in Michigan, Brandon was also an elite bowler for his school varsity team. 

College Bound!

(Coach) Thomas Fortney- Delta College- RHP, SS

Thomas is a graduate of Birch Run High School having played for the Bandits and Coach Macko for 5 seasons. While at Delta, he led the Pioneers to their first district and regional titles in program history along with a berth in the NJCAA World Series. Thomas is recognized as one of the best Bandits pitchers to take the mound forming a deadly staff with Tyler Kirkwood and Nash Irwin throughout their Bandits careers. To this day, Thomas has made it back full circle to the Bandits as he takes over the coaching duties of the pitchers/ catchers and on staff with Coach Macko where it began.

(Coach) Tyler Harbin- Macomb College, University of Michigan Flint- RHP

Tyler graduated from Clio High School where he played 3 seasons on Varsity. He was a part of the team that won the 2013 Flint Metro League. He attended and played baseball at Macomb Community College for 1 year. After ending his playing career, he decided to take his talents to the coaching side where he's been the pitching coach for the Bandits for the past 6 seasons where he has been coaching with Coach Bruce (his Father) and Coach Justin (his twin Brother). They coach the 15U Bandits where the youngest Son/ Brother currently plays. Tyler received his business degree from the University of Michigan- Flint.

   

(Coach) Jacob Abu-Aita- Mott College, Oakland University- C

Jacob graduated from Genesee High School after a standout career in both baseball and football. While never having the opportunity to play for the Bandits, Coach Macko brought him back on board as an assistant coach/ catching instructor for the Bandits where he was a tremendous asset the past few seasons. Jacob attended and played baseball at Mott College for 2 seasons and later transferred to Oakland University for his last 2 seasons of eligibility. He is currently continuing his education at Logan University in Missouri where he's studying chiropractic medicine. We wish him the best!

 

(Coach) Eric Wagner- Mott College, Ferris State University- 2B

Coach Eric is a graduate of Clio High School where he was an All Conference and All District 2B. He started coaching with the Bandits and Coach Macko from the first day the Bandits were formed in 2006 and would fill the assistant role for the next 9 seasons. Eric was a standout 2B at Mott College and later Ferris State University and was one of the best 2B this area has ever seen. The combined efforts of that coaching staff with himself, Coach Macko, and Coach Knoll has led to multiple Bandits infielders receiving college offers and scholarships. Thank You!

(Coach) Lanny Macko- Mott College, William Penn University- SS, 3B

Coach Macko is a graduate of Clio High School where he received All Conference honors as a 3B/ SS. While at Mott College, as the lead-off hitter, he was named a Team Captain his Sophomore year and transitioned full time to SS. After playing at Mott for 2 seasons, he transferred to William Penn University in Iowa where he continued playing SS and shared team Captain honors. He has played with and against many professional athletes including Derek Jeter, Jeff Hamilton, Jim Abbott, and many others. In 1992, he received an invite for the USA Olympic team in Nashville, Tenn that eventually would conclude his collegiate career. He has been coaching and working in America's past time ever since and held previous roles as an infield/ hitting instructor at Doyle Baseball Academy and Associate Scout for the Texas Rangers. In 2006, Coach Macko formed the Mid Michigan Bandits where his passion for the game, playing experience, and desire to help younger players become successful both on and off the field while reaching their goals has been the driving force behind his mission to form one of the areas finest and most Elite Travel Baseball Clubs in the Mid Michigan Bandits.
