To address some specific questions....

1) We will once again be using the umpire summary cards.  Each team will be responsible for signing the card at the completion of the game. The score on this card, as turned in by the umpire, will be the "official" score, so it is each coach's responsibility to make sure it is correct.

2) For Preliminary Round games, the home team will be determined by coin flip. For Elimination Round games, the higher seed is the home team.

3) Rosters lock on the first pitch of a team's first game.

4) All non-championship games will have a no new inning two (2) hour time limit.  For more time limit details, please see the complete rules.

5) The newly implemented balk rule by MLB will be used for these tournaments.  Specifically, if a pitcher fakes a pickoff throw to third base in an attempt to pick a runner off of first base, it will be considered a balk.  (See MLB rule 8.05.C)  In essence, the only "fake" pickoff move now allowed by MLB is the one to second base.

6) Please be sure to review the bat restrictions information in the rules and on the front page of the website as it pertains to BPF1.15 and USABat restrictions.

IMPORTANT SPRING CLASSIC RULE!!!!!!  PLEASE READ, NO EXCEPTIONS OR EXCUSES!!!!!!

Section 2. Bat Restrictions - BAT ALTERING - HEAT: No inappropriate heating of bats will be allowed in the tournament. If any coach, player, or parent is found to have altered the temperature (and thus performance) of a bat by any inappropriate means - such as propane, heating pads, heaters, etc. - the HEAD COACH of the offending team will be ejected for the remainder of the tournament.  Additionally, the altered bat will also be removed for the rest of the tournament. For clarification, maintaining a bat's inherent temperature by means of insulation from the ambient elements is allowed - this would include wrapping the bat in a towel or unheated blanket, storage in an equipment bag, etc.  Please be sure that all players and parents are notified of this rule as the head coach is ultimately responsible for their team's actions.
