WEDNESDAY NIGHT LADIES LEAGUE RULES
ALL RULES FOR THE LEAGUE SHALL BE AS PER SPN ONTARIO RULE BOOK WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
1. FOR LIABILITY REASONS, LEAGUE CONVENOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISALLOW THE USE OF ANY EQUIPMENT THAT MAY BE CONSIDERED UNSAFE.
2. NO TIME LIMIT. BATTERS START WITH A 1-1 COUNT.
3. MERCY RULE SHALL BE 12 RUNS AFTER 5 INNINGS.
4. ANY FOUL TIP CAUGHT IS AN OUT.
5. TIES STAND. INTERNATIONAL TIE BREAKER USED IN PLAY-OFFS
6. JEWELLERY IS ALLOWED WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS AT UMPIRES DISCRETION(eg.giant loop earrings and long chains)
7. 4 COURTESY RUNNERS PER GAME. INJURED PLAYERS CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE LINEUP WITHOUT PENALTY. RUNNERS FROM THE SCREEN
ARE ALLOWED. DO NOT ABUSE THIS RULE. IF YOU CANNOT RUN THE BASES DON'T PLAY THE OUTFIELD. MUST BE LAST OUT.
8. MUST HAVE MINIMUM 9 PLAYERS TO PLAY.
9. ANY FORFEITS WILL RESULT IN A LOSS. MUST GIVE CONVENOR AT LEAST “24” HOURS NOTICE OF GAME CANCELLATION.
10. TEAMS MAY BAT ENTIRE ROSTER OR USE SUBSTITUTION AND RE-ENTRY.
11. ILLEGAL BAT LIST WILL BE ON THE LEAGUE WEBSITE. THE LEAGUE WILL NOT STAND FOR ANY ILLEGAL EQUIPMENT BEING USED.
ANYONE FOUND USING ILLEGAL EQUIPMENT WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE GAME AND THE FOLLOWING 3 GAMES THERE AFTER
12. UMPIRE ABUSE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. SUSPENSION AWARDED AFTER CONSULTATION BETWEEN UMPIRE AND LEAGUE OFFICIAL IF NECESSARY.
13. LEAGUE STANDINGS: 2 POINTS FOR WIN. PLAY TO WIN. IN CASE OF TIES IN STANDINGS AT END OF THE YEAR, RUNS FOR/AGAINST WILL BE USED
14. ROSTER MUST BE SUBMITTED THE NIGHT OF YOUR FIFTH GAME. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PLAYOFFS, PLAYERS MUST PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST 6 GAMES.
GAME SHEETS FROM BOTH TEAMS TO BE HANDED IN AFTER EVERY GAME. NO EXCEPTIONS
15. ANY PLAYER, COACH, OR PERSON DIRECTLY AFFILIATED WITH YOUR TEAM CAUGHT DRINKING ALCOHOL AT ANY OF THE CITY PARKS DIAMONDS DURING
LEAGUE PLAY WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION OR DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR TEAM AND FULL FORFEITURE OF ANY CASH/PRIZES.
16. OUTFIELDERS CAN THROW OUT ANYONE AT FIRST BASE.
17. PROTESTS ARE TO BE MADE TO LEAGUE CONVENOR WITHIN 24 HOURS ALONG WITH $150.00 CASH. NON-REFUNDABLE IF YOU LOSE PROTEST.
18. PITCHING WILL BE 6 TO 12 FEET, USING THE BOARD.
19. HOMERUN BALLS AND FOUL BALLS TO BE RETRIEVED BY THE TEAMS.
20. HOME TEAMS TO RETRIEVE THE BASES AT THE END OF THE NIGHT.
21. 5 RUN LIMIT PER INNING, LAST INNING TO BE AN OPEN INNING.
22. THERE IS ANTICIPATION ALLOWED AS SOON AS THE BALL CROSSES THE PLATE.
23. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIGGING OUT OF THE BATTERS BOX, IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT.
24. ONLY BATS WITH USSSA THUMB PRINT AND ASA 2004 CERTIFIED BATS CAN BE USED. ANYONE CAUGHT USING ILLEGAL BATS WILL BE EJECTED.
25. TEAMS MAY USE ANYONE ON ANOTHER TEAMS ROSTER DURING THE SEASON, EXCEPT FOR THE PLAYOFFS.
26. IF ROSTERS ARE NOT SUBMITTED BY THE REQUIRED DATE ON THE RULE SHEET, THE TEAM WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS.
27. ANY PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS WITH A TEAM MEMBER, ROSTERED PLAYER, UMPIRE, OR FANS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISMISSED FROM THE LEAGUE.
28. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED OUTSIDE THE FENCED AREA
29. GAMES WILL BE 7 INNINGS. TEAMS MUST BE READY TO PLAY AT SCHEDULED GAME TIMES. NO GRACE PERIOD.
30. ANY TEAM NOT GIVING 24 HOURS NOTICE WILL RESULT IN A 28$(UMPIRE FEE) AND $50 NO SHOW FINE (GIVEN TO THE OPPOSING TEAM) AND WILL HAVE TO BE PAID BEFORE NEXT GAME IS PLAYED.
