Wednesday 25th vs. Brill Millers @ Cinder City Park 7:30PM (NL) BEARS WIN 10-4
The Bears started their 2018 Season off with a good win against Brill. The Bears pitching staff had a solid outing Blake Johnson threw 3 strong innings to start the game off. Winning Pitcher Chevy Tollefson threw 4 innings. Followed up by two shutout innings by Hayden Bowe and Jordan Dickerson. At the plate the Bears got into groove fast. Reed Pecha had a 2 RBI hit early in the game to put the first runs of the season on the board. Later in the game with two outs the Bears rallied to bat around the order in a big inning. Final Score was 10-4. The Bears hope to take this momentum into Friday against The Haugen Knights @ Carson Park.
Friday 27th vs Haugen Knights @ Carson Park 7:30 PM (NL) Bears Lose 5-4
On a chilly friday night at Carson park the bears lost a competitive ball game to the knights. JR Lukes started for the bears and had an impressive debut on the mound. Things just never really got rolling for the bears as they fell behind 5-4 in the top of the 9th Inning and were unable to comeback.
Sunday 29th @ Eau Claire Rivermen @ Stein Field 12:30PM (League) Bears Win 12-2
The Bears opened up their CRBL league play with a bang out hitting The Rivermen 18-5. At the plate Jim Thill was 4-4 with 3 RBI and 1 walk, Josh halling and Reed Pecha also added 4 hits each and Pecha had 3 stolen bases. Sam Janni was another star of the game tallying 3 RBI on 3 hits. Blake Johnson was an animal on the mound retiring 19 of the first 20 batters faced. Through 7 innings he gave up 3 hits 2 runs 1 earned 6ks and 1BB. Matt Lunde came in and finished off the game with two shutout innings to close the door.

Saturday 5th vs. Hudson River Rats @ Cinder City Park 1:00PM (NL) Bears Win 12-2
The Eau Claire Bears won in dominate fashion against the River Rats 12-2. Blake Johnson started on the mound and went a solid 6 innings with 0 earned runs. Sam Janni was an absolute beast at the plate. Janni was 4-5 with a Grand Slam, 2 doubles, a single, and 7 RBIS. A triple short of the cycle. Chevy Tollefson was 2-4 with 2 RBIS. Jordan Dickerson and Austin Neu each added 2 hits a piece. Jordan Dickerson threw the final two innings shutting the rats down. Jimmy Thill ended the game with a 2 RBI single in the 8th to push the game to a 10 run rule.
Sunday 6th vs. Bloomer Woodticks DH @ Cinder City Park 12:30PM (League) BEARS SPLIT L 4-3 W 11-1
GAME 1- The Bears went down early in the game by 4 runs due to a few missed plays and a couple hits. They were able to mustard together 3 runs in the middle innings to bring them within 1 run. But Curtis Dachel had the bears number and closed the door to hand the Bears their first league loss of the year. Chevy Tollefson took the tough luck loss on the day after going a strong 7 innings with 9 strikeouts 1 walk and 1 earned run. Brian Menard had the only hot stick in game one going 3-4. The Bears lost 4-3
GAME 2- Game two was a much different story. The bears got aggressive on the base pads in the 2nd game finishing the game with a total of 8 stolen bases. Hayden Bowe started for the Bears on the mound and went the distance only needing to go 5 innings. He gave up just 2 hits with 3 strikeouts and 0 Earned runs. The bears had much better success at the plate game 2. Josh Halling and Jim Thill lead the way for the bears. Josh Halling was 2-3 with 2 RBIS, 2SB, and 2 Runs scored. Jim Thill was 2-3 with 1 RBI, 3SB, and 2 Runs scored. Chevy Tollefson added 2 RBIS as well. The bears pulled the win off in 5 innings 11-1
Friday 11th @ Spring Valley Hawks 7:30pm (NL) BEARS LOSE 6-7
On Friday night the Bears dropped a close one with the Hawks. The short staffed Bears did put up a good battle despite having a makeshift lineup. Jake Olson started on the mound for the Bears and despite the score he pitched great. He was in control all game and if it were not for a couple lucky bloops and missed plays by the bears it would have been a much different game. Matt Flesher came in to relieve Olson in his first outing of the year and was also impressive. At the plate the Bears were led by pitcher Blake Johnson who filled in as a catcher, he had 2 hits and 2 rbis on the night. Chevy Tollefson also had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Rookie Stephen Stockdale had a multi hit night. Brian Menard had a big 2 rbi double in the middle innings that brought the bears within striking distance. But in the end the Bears couldn't get that last spark falling to the Hawks 7-6 in 9 innings.

Friday 18th vs Menomonie Eagles @ Carson Park 7:30PM (NL) BEARS WIN 5-3
On a beautiful night at Carson Park the Eau Claire Bears took the field to take on The Menomonie Eagles. The bears got on the board early in the game to take a 2 run lead and pitchers Matt Lunde, Matt Flesher, Chevy Tollefson, and Dan Olson were able to fight off eagles hitters all night. Matt Flesher would get the Win in the game and Dan Olson picked up the save. At the plate The Bears got big nights out of a few players. Jordan Dickerson had 2 big hits and added 2 RBI's as well. Jim Thill also had a 2 hit 2 RBI night at the plate. Reed Pecha and Austin Neu also added an RBI.
Saturday 19th @ Plum City Blues 1:00PM (NL) BEARS WIN 5-4
The Bears traveled down to Plum City saturday to take on the blues. The bears scored early in the first inning after a lead off double by Reed Pecha who would eventually come around to score on a Tom Mewhorter sac fly. Blake Johnson started on the mound and pitched well but The Blues answered in the bottom of the first with a 2 Run homerun after a 2 out error by the bears. The Blues would hold a 4-1 lead most of the game until the top of the 9th inning. The bears rallied off of a 1 out single by Chevy Tollefson followed by a bunt by Blake johnson that would be misplayed. And then reed pecha had a 2 rbi hit and the bears just kept going to score 4 that inning the Jake Olson finished off the final inning to shut the door. Jake Olson collected the Win. At the plate Chevy Tollefson led the team in hits going 3-3 with 2 singles and a double. Reed pecha had a double and a single and 2 rbis. Jim Thill also had 2 hits and 2 rbis.
