Thank you for your interest in the Wildcat Hoop Camp!

The Wildcat Hoop Camp is run by the Wilsonville High boys basketball coaching staff along with current and former players.

Many camps teach basketball fundamentals and do some things that are similar to our activities at the Wildcat Hoop Camp.  The WHC is THE basketball camp for boys going into the 3rd - 11th grades who want to play Wildcat Basketball someday, because it is the ONLY camp on the planet that in every way comes from the Wilsonville Wildcat perspective, emphasizes the core values Wildcat Basketball holds dear, and begins the process of teaching our kids what it means to be a student/athlete in the Wildcat Basketball program.  It is, in fact, a week jam-packed with many fun and important things Wildcat Basketball...from the program's Five Pillars, to daily Wildcat-focused speakers, to offensive philosophies and defensive schemes...

It's a crash course for our community's young basketball lovers on Wildcat Basketball!

Camp runs 9am-2pm each day the first week (June 17-20) & 1pm-6pm the second week (June 24-27).

On the first day of camp, it is helpful if you arrive 30 minutes early to allow plenty of time for check-in for all.  On the remaining days of camp, please arrive 15 minutes early.

Campers need to bring a sack lunch.  In the past, the Boosters have kindly opened the Concessions Stand each day during our lunch break to supplement a camper's lunch, but extra money is required for that... Stay tuned as to whether that will be happening this year or not.

We encourage families to send their sons with plenty of fluids.  Staying hydrated is STRONGLY encouraged and emphasized; we are playing a LOT of basketball during camp week, and it sometimes can be very warm in the gyms.  Staying properly hydrated is critical.

Campers need to dress in basketball-appropriate clothing and shoes.

Basketballs are welcome but not required.

All campers will receive a camp t-shirt, and team division winners as well as individual contest winners will receive modest but fun prizes.

Teams are made, and as our kids know and love, "trades" are then often consummated by teams...often, there is little rhyme or reason for these trades.  Our kids "get this" and typically enjoy it thoroughly.  Please do not read anything more into any trades than just that, because if you do, you will be mis-reading the entire entertainment focus of these quasi-transactions.

After years of accommodating refunds without any questions, the practice of signing up for camp and then canceling at the last minute unfortunately by 2019 had grown out of control.  This created staffing, planning and safety issues for our kids as we try to anticipate how many will be there for camp week.  Things can happen of course, and we get that, but we need to discourage the practice of last-second cancellations.  Getting 5-10 "crises" that have come up the night before camp has worn thin.  Therefore, in 2020 and going forward, there will be a $25 fee assessed on all refund requests for the time and energy it involves and the time and energy cancelling wastes, and no refunds will be issued the Friday before camp begins or later.  We don't love doing this and we want to be accommodating to all of our families, but the practice of flippantly canceling has real costs on our end and we hope these new refund policies will help bring this under control, or, at a minimum, compensate the camp a bit for all the very last-second flip-flopping.

The "CONSENT FOR MEDICAL CARE" that you agree to when you register your son is important.  If you agree to this, you warrant that you are 21 years or older and a legal guardian of the participant being registered. You authorize all medical, surgical, diagnostic, and hospital procedures as may be performed or presented by a physician or health care provider for this prospective participant if you can not or are not reached for any reason in case of emergency. You promise the participant has liability insurance.  Please let us know if you have any objections to this ASAP.

The "Consent to Minor Athletic Waiver" is something that should not be taken lightly.  This is a condition of participating in the Wildcat Hoop Camp, and you agree to it when you sign up your son.  If you find it unacceptable you should immediately let us know so we can pull your son from camp and refund your money.  You agree in consideration for the minor being allowed to participate in any way in the Wildcat Hoop Camp, and any and all related events and activities, the 21-year-old or older parent/guardian/authorized representative of the registrant: a) AGREES that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will instruct the minor participant that prior to participating he or she should inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and if the parent/guardian or participant believes anything is unsafe, he or she should immediately advise his or her coach or supervisor of such condition(s) and refuse to participate; b) ACKNOWLEDGES and fully understands that each participant shall be fully responsible for his own transportation to and from the Wildcat Hoop Camp; c) ACKNOWLEDGES and fully understands that each participant will be engaging in activities that involve risk of serious injury, including permanent disability and death, and severe social and economic losses which might result not only from their own actions, inactions or negligence but the actions, inactions or negligence of others, the rules of play, or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used.  Further, that there may be other risks not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time; d) ASSUMES ALL of the foregoing risk and accepts personal responsibility for the damages following any such injury, permanent disability or death; e) Acknowledges that this camp is being run during the era of COVID-19, and that certain protocols will be required and the camper and family agrees to adhere to these fully, and at the same recognizes and acknowledges that risks are involved in this regard and assumes all risks associated therein; f) RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE Wilsonville High School, the West Linn-Wilsonville School District, Chris Roche, the WBA, any and all other coaches and/or counselors, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, Wilsonville High administrators, Wilsonville High employees, and, if applicable, the owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event all of whom hereinafter will be referred to as "releasees".  The releasees shall be absolved by the participant, the family of the participant, the parent/guardian/authorized signer, any of their heirs and/or next of kin, of any and all liability from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages on account of injury or otherwise, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by any negligence of the releasees or otherwise. This release includes but is not limited to all claims, demands, rights and causes of whatsoever kind of nature, arising from, and by reason of, any and all known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen bodily and personal injuries, damage to property and the consequences thereof, that hereafter may be sustained.  I/WE HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE, I/WE UNDERSTAND THAT WE GIVE UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING and/or AGREEING TO IT, AND WE AGREE TO THIS VOLUNTARILY.
