HAWKS VS. NO. BRUNSWICK
Subscribe to our NewsletterNorth Brunswick 21, J.P. Stevens 7:
Sophomore running back Myles Bailey and the resurgent North Brunswick High School football team just keep rolling.
Bailey rushed for two touchdowns in Friday's Greater Middlesex Conference game. North Brunswick, ranked 7 in the Home News Tribune Top 10, won its third straight under first-year coach Mike Cipot.
The Raiders (3-2 overall, 3-2 in White Division) had won three combined games in 2015 and 2016.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Bailey is a big reason for that turnaround. In the previous two games, he rushed for over 300 yards and scored four touchdowns.
That continued Friday. After a scoreless first quarter, Bailey rushed for touchdowns of 12 and 24 yards to give the Raiders a 14-0 lead at the intermission.
For J.P. Stevens (1-3, 1-3), Quian Muse rushed for a touchdown with 10:05 left in the game to cut the lead to 21-7.
Next Friday, North Brunswick travels to J.F. Kennedy, while J.P. Stevens hosts Perth Amboy.
