Jim Dixon, member of the Stanley Contracting team passed away March, 2023.  Jim also was a member of the Hawks, who won champtionships in 2011,2012, 2013

Jay Johnson  - Played for White Sox, Stanley Construction, and his last team the Panthers,  Jay passed away January of 2022

Manny Gonzalez Passed away Deember 2022.  Manny Played for the Crusaders and was the MSSL commissjoner for 10 Years (207-2017).  Born and raised in Jersey City, he lived in Edison from 1965–1981 and then Morris Township for 21 years before moving to The Renaissance of Manchester in 2001. He met the love of his life at the age of 17 and was married in 1957 after serving in the US for two years. Manny earned his Bachelor of Science at Seton Hall University and completed graduate studies at NYU. Manny held various officer positions in systems and programming in the banking industry before retiring in 1999.  e also served as the president of Pop Warner Football in Edison and President of his Toastmasters International chapter.

Ed Leppert original Rebel player, passed away on May 17, 2023

RICHY VEITH - Rebels 2006 -2011, Attended Belleville High, First team in basketball and baseball.  Graduated from Niagra University, was captain of the basketball team in his senior year.  Signed a pro contract with the Cincinnati Reds and played in the New York-Penn League.  Father of three, he is so missed by his family, friends, and teammates.

Joe Parascondola, Original Manager for the Rebels in 2000, passed away in June 2020, Joe was born in Brooklyn and in his youth and older years played baseball and softball in and around NYC.  He met his wife Rosemary they moved to Staten Island, where they had two sons and a daughter and eventually the grandfather to 5 grandchildren.   Joe and his wife moved to Renaissance in 1999 and along with Joe Piscotore formed the Renaissance Rebel Slowpitch softball team. 

JAYS

Fast Eddie Barile 91 -.  Eddie passed away on March 7, 2022.  Eddie played in the Manchester League for 11 years and in the Berkeley League for 21 years.  Eddie was inducted into the SSUSA and Berkley Premier League Hall of Fame.  Despite being short in status, he was not short in his ability to play the game, he was a prolific offensive weapon. His exploits did not stop on the playing field as he was a Gentleman who greeted every player with a smile and he also umpired for Manchester and Ocean County Independent Umpires Associations.   

 JOE WARD, who played for Jays from 1997 until 2007, has passed away.  Joe also played for the Holiday City team in the Berkley Senior League.

LEISURE KNOLL OWLS

On May 4th, 2023 Doug Watson Passed away

 Ben Caruso 73, member of the Leisure Knoll Owls for numerous years, passed away on Thursday December 3.  

DON BURNS  joined the Leisure Knoll Owls in 2003. He managed the team to the American Div. championship in 2006. From 07 to 2013 he was assistant Mgr. He was League Rep. from 2003 to 2013. and well known for his vociferous "CHECK EM and GET EM" at games. Prior to this, he was a member of the Lake Ridge Team.

- DOMINICK PUGLIESE  - Passed away June 21, 2018, while playing for the Holiday Svc Ctr team in the Berkeley League.   Dominick was a member of the Knights and the Paladins (Now known as CheckMates) in the Manchester League.

Ray Talty, member of the Panthers in MSSL passed away Saturday July 21, Ray was 74 years young. A resident of Brick, Toms River and Whiting, over the years he helped coach youth Baseball, Football, and Basketball

Charlie Spinelli Long time member of MSSL with the Knights and Crusaders passed away Tuesday afternoon March 23, 2021 from a heart attack. Arrangements when known will be passed along. The league's condolences go out to his family.
