Ladies Fastpitch League of Winnipeg



TO ALL former U19 B and FORMER PLAYERS (born in 2000 or earlier) & COACHES

 Have you wondered whether you can still play Fastball after your last year of U19 B? And have you thought of making a comeback to Fastpitch Softball? Yes. The opportunity is here for you. We are a bunch of teams who have passed that hurdle and are still playing. We want you to continue playing Fastball and enjoy playing it. You don’t have to play “A” ball. We have organized a league where former players from the B (U19) and older not playing in the MLSSL, can continue playing without having to meet up against “A” teams. There is no age limit except NO minors. No one underage will be allowed to play in the LFLW

Do you think that you are interested? Well then join us. One thing to keep in mind is that we play during the summer months. League games played in nice weather, June, July and August. What about Provincials you say? Well that weekend will be open to any team wanting to participate in Provincials providing they register the team in the appropriate category and classification. Another thing to keep in mind, this as an “OPEN” category for B teams only formed by former B and C players and ages ranging from 20 and up of current year. There may be the odd former “A” player that has decided NOT to continue playing “A” ball. Part of the league rules stipulates the following:

1)   Teams should be formed from players that are 20 years old and above. Age goes by Calendar year player is born in. Teams should not take away underage players and disrupt their rosters;

2)   NO team shall carry present “A” players, also any team or players that are currently registered with the MLSSL will not be allowed to play in the LFLW.

Remember that this is an adult type league for former players and players that have completed playing U19 B.

1)   Schedule to start in the middle June.

2)   Game night to be Tuesdays & Thursdays and time start 7:00 p.m.;

3)   a 16 game schedule with a playoff possibly the weekend in mid-August (tournament format);

4)   NO games to be scheduled on weekends. (Allowance for cottagers); exception for rainouts.

5)   Team fees are $875.00 (for 2019) which include playoffs fees and a onetime $150.00 performance bond.

6)   Not included in the above fees:

a.   Game umpire fees. They are $50.00 (for 2019) per game and are split between the 2 teams each game.

b.  Field fees. To be paid at end of season during playoffs weekend. For 2019 they would be about $200.00 per team

7)   Games are played between Marj Edey Park (Varsity View Sportsplex) and Ile des Chenes (Optimist park)

Some of the rules include:

1) Unlimited Substitution

2) Continuous batting order

3) Must have 9 players to start and end a game

4) No time limit

5) Rain outs must be played at a set date by the league.

We are a Winnipeg based League. Most/All games to be played in Winnipeg or immediate surroundings.
