Yankees Top Thunder in Battle of Undefeated NALL Squads (NALL Senior League)
Great baseball was on display at the Hill Field, as the undefeated NALL entries in the Senior Circuit (Thunder and Yankees) squared off to determine sole possession of first place for District 2 South. Although the Yankees prevailed 4-1, both teams demonstrated the finer points of the sport, with good defense and pitching. Thunder pitcher Anthony Dalton, kept the Yankees in check tossing a 4 hitter over 7 innings, but was matched by the Yankee hurlers Shane Chopko and Ellis Dorr, who limited the strong hitting Thunder to only 2 hits in the contest. Patrick Swain’s triple (Yankees) and Kevin Buglio’s double (Thunder) were the only significant hits. The NALL teams hold the top 2 spots in the league and are anxious for their June rematch.
