Registration:
Q - When is registration for spring baseball?
A - Registration typically opens in December and runs through early March. Registration for each age group/program may close at any time in March based on the number of existing participants and expected number of teams/coaches. A late fee may be added after a certain date in March.
Q - How do I determine my child’s age?
A - The age cut off is April 30 of the upcoming year. In other words, the age your child is on April 30 in the upcoming year is used to determine the appropriate program.
Q - What programs do you offer?
A - Spring Season and Fall Ball - In-House T-Ball (4-6yo), Minors (7-8yo), and Majors (9-11yo). Travel ball for 8U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and 14U.
Q - Can my child play down in a lower age group?
A - Typically, yes. It is our goal for every player to have a positive experience. For Minors (7-8) we try to keep things fair and maintain competitive balance. We allow players to play down if it's the parents wish and his/her skill level is suitable for the league. Players should register for the age appropriate program, include the request to play down in the request field and email the registration coordinator. For requests to play down in Minors (7-8), the player will participate in the Minors (7-8) skills evaluation. The Minors (7-8) age group coordinator will approve/deny any request based on the skills evaluation, including consideration of the size of the player, age (e.g. - birthday just before the age cut off) and discussions with prior coaches, etc. In general, playing down is typically not a problem.
Q - Can my 6 year old child play in Minors (7-8)?
A - Possibly. Players should register for the age appropriate program and indicate their request to play in Minors in the request field and email the registration coordinator and/or Minors Age Group Coordinator (see Contact Information under "About" menu). The player may be invited to the Minors pre-season player evaluation to determine the appropriate age group.
Q - Can my child request to play on the same team as their friends. May I request teammates for car pooling? Can I request a specific coach?
A - Yes. For T-Ball/Clinic (4-6), we group teams based on friend requests. For Minors (7-8), we try to honor friend requests while maintaining a competitive balance between teams. Most but not all friend requests are honored. For Majors (9-11), the teams are drafted by coaches and friend requests are provided to coaches but requests cannot be guaranteed.
Q - I’d like to head coach. Can I request an assistant coach?
A - Yes. However, for Majors (9-11yo) or Minors (7-8yo) we may not honor the request if it disrupts the competitive balance between teams (eg, parents of the the top 2 players in the league wish to coach together).
Spring In-House Evaluations:
Q- Do you hold evaluations? What are they for?
A- Yes. For Minors (7-8yo) and Majors (9-11yo), we have skills evaluations in March to assist with the even distribution of players among the teams to maintain competitive balance.
Q- What if my child will miss evaluations?
A - We encourage players to make every effort to make evaluations. If you can’t make them, please email the age group coordinator.
Team Notifications:
Q - When will we be contacted about team assignments?
A - Teams are formed in mid to late March. You should hear from your coach in late March. If you do not hear from your coach by March 30th, please contact the age group coordinator (see Contact Information page).
