EQUIPMENT
* Each football player is responsible for purchasing football cleats and a girdle. Cheerleaders are required to purchase their own briefs and cheering sneakers, as determined by the organization.
* One mouthpiece will be given to each athlete. However, if your child loses their mouthpiece or it is considered unusable by their coach, the parent is responsible for purchasing a new mouthpiece.
* All other equipment/uniforms will be furnished by the organization.
EXPECTATIONS OF PARENTS
* Parents must volunteer their time to help make the program a success. All parents must volunteer a minimum of 2 hours of service. We encourage all parents to attend football games. It makes a world of difference when a child sees his/her family at the games cheering them on.
* Parents can volunteer in the following areas: concession, 50/50, field duty, tutoring and as a Team Parent. Please see your prospective Team Parent to sign up. We also encourage parents to volunteer on the various committees that the East Orange Jr. Jaguars have that run through out the year. (Fundraising, Registration, Banquet)
AND FINALLY, A REMINDER
* Coaches volunteer their time and services. The philosophy of the East Orange Jr. Jaguars, Inc. program is that academics, child development and athletics go hand-in-hand. At every level, the East Orange Jr. Jaguars seeks to develop well-rounded young men and women. They are required to learn not only the fundamentals of football or cheerleading, but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to the development of a sound mind, body, and character. All coaches are certified with NYSCA or Rutgers under the approval of North Jersey Pop Warner. All Board Members and Coaches have a Megan’s Law background check on a yearly basis.
* Team Parents also volunteer their time and services. Their major responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach of the designated football team and cheerleading squad with the administrative paperwork and communications with the parents/guardians of the team. They assist the coaches with organizing all team functions.
LET'S MAKE SURE WE APPRECIATE THOSE WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME AND ENERGY FOR OUR CHILDREN...
