HEAD COACH - MARK SWINDELL

Mark Swindell enters his 5th season as the FW Rebels head coach.  His baseball philosophy is simple.  Have Fun....Play as a Team.  He believes if every boy does those two things, success will occur.  Swindell brings exstensive baseball experience to the Rebels organization.  He was a 3-yr varsity letterman at Fort Worth Southwest HS and was the first team All-District Shortstop his junior and senior season. They won the district every season Mark was there.  After HS, Mark landed at Ranger Junior College where he was the All Conference Shortstop in 1991 and Ranger won the conference title.  Mark transferred to play D1 ball at the University of Texas Pan American on a full baseball scholarship and played under legendary head coach Al Ogletree who had won 1,084 games when he retired after the 1997 season. After Mark's senior season in 1993, he was a student-coach at UT Pan Am primarily coaching 1st base and working with infielders.  In 1995, former long time Houston Astros catcher Alan Ashby signed Mark to a professional contract to play for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings in the Texas-Louisiana League after being noticed at a tryout camp.  Mark stayed in the league until 2000 having played for the WhiteWings & Greenville (MS) Bluesmen.  He primarily played SS & 2b professionally his first three seasons and then finished up his career as a pitcher.  He does not claim to be a baseball "know-it-all" but says he learned the game from men who were paid a lot of money to teach the game.  Swindell believes each coach he had from HS to JuCo to D1 to Pro Ball factors into his style of coaching today.  Mark has been married to his wife Mai for 17 years and they have three kids- Felicia, Preston, and Evan...and a dog named Major.

ASSISTANT COACH - JEFF SMITH

Jeff has been with the FW Rebels from the beginning and has the perfect demeanor for coaching.  His laid back personality calms any situation that the team feeds off of.  Smith has a keen feel for the pulse of the team and assists in game-day decision making, lineups, and opposition strategy. His knowledge of other teams the Rebels will face is critically important to the Rebels success.  Jeff is married to Monica and has four children.

PITCHING COACH - JEFF PECK

Jeff is new to the Rebels coaching staff and will serve as the pitching coach.  Peck was a draft pick of the Kansas City Royals in 1993 but elected to take a scholarship at Texas Tech instead.  While at Tech, Peck compiled a stellar 17-4 record while pitching for the Red Raiders.  After Tech, Jeff signed with the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings in the Texas Louisiana League and pitched for two more teams-Lubbock Crickets & Ozark Mountain Ducks.  Most recently, Jeff was the head coach of the Dirtbags 12U AAA team in the Spring of 2019.  He will bring plenty of knowledge and experience to the Rebels organization.
