As usual the MJWL will be entering a Team into the Mcdonogh Duals All Star Event. (Teams are requested to submit nominations to the selection committee by Dec 31st c/o Doug Yoakum)  The final team will be selected at the January 13th league meeting.

The Team will get together for (2) practices at Loyola Blakefield on 1/21 and 1/23 from 6:15 to 8:00pm....It is required that all wrestlers selected for this team attend these practices.

Head Coach for the event will be Troy Lawrence (Damascus)

If you have a wrestler selected the cost is $20.00 per wrestler paid for by the team due at the February league meeting.  Team singlets will be available for use or purchase.  USA Wrestling cards are required to participate.

Former Hereford Junior Leaguer Josh Asper became the first Former MJWL wrestler to become an NCAA All-American in over a decade finishing 6th place at the 2011 NCAA D1 Championships for the University of Maryland.

Josh was a 4x Public High School State Champion (2005,2006,2007,2008) for Hereford High School and was a 2x MJWL Runner-Up (2003 and 2004) for Hereford Jr. League.

Congratulations to Patrick Downey who cut his teeth with the Golden Ring Wrestling team and went on to become MJWL champion for Perry Hall. Patrick Just became the 2011 NHSCA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL CHAMPION AT 189lbs. an incredible feat and among the all-time greatest accomplishments of maryland wrestling.



Also congratulations to Mike Doestch and Quinn Devaney From the Dundalk Hawks who both won the NHSCA Middle School Nationals at 75# and 85# last weekend.
