Newport Girls Hoops and Newport Girls Basketball Association are proud to co-sponsor an annual scholarship given to a graduating senior member of the Newport High School girls basketball team. This scholarship is made possible by the cooperation of the youth and high school program boards tabbing of 10% of the Cold Turkey Tournament annual proceeds to enter into a scholarship fund which is then presented to an outgoing senior member(s) of the high school girls basketball team.

 

The selection of the recipient(s) is at the sole descretion of the high school head basketball coach/staff. The amount of the scholarship varies each year and can be as much as, but not exceeding, the full 10% of net proceeds from the CTT  tournament in the corresponding year of the player(s) graduation.

2. Contributions to the program (off the court)

3. Contributions to the program (on the court)

4. Leadership

5. Community Service

 

This scholarship was formed starting in 2005 and has furnished over $20,000 to our recipients over that time. We are very proud to be a part of our players lives moving beyond their time with us at Newport High School, and this is a way for our arm to extend in such a way and continue our support in extending their education.
