HOW TO CREATE MY LEAGUES SAFETY PLAN

 


CONCUSSION TRAINING

The State of Nevada requires volunteers to be trained annually in regards to Concussions.

The CDC provides a free online course that takes just under 30 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be issued to the volunteer. Each league shall maintain a copy of each volunteer's certificate.

CONCUSSION POLICY

Each time a parent or legal guardian registers a child for the current season they shall be required to read and sign the Concussion Policy set forth by your league. This should take place during your registration period and must be done prior to the player participating in any league activity.

NRS 386.435 requires each league to adopt a policy in regards to head injuries in youth athletes, requiring the athlete be removed immediately upon sustaining a suspected concussion. The athlete may not return or participate in league activities until given written clearance from a health care professional. The athlete and parents shall return a form acknowledging receipt of the information in regards to concussions.

USA SAFE SPORT ABUSE AWARENESS

Law requires volunteers to be trained annually in regards to abuse. 

Safe Sport provides a free online course that takes just under 30 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be issued to the volunteer. Each league shall maintain a copy of each volunteer's certificate.
