The HYSL Intramural Team Manager/Coach is the primary representative of the Team and Players. This person is responsible for taking care of the needs of the Intramural HYSL Team starting at the Player
Draft meeting. This Manager will lead the Intramural Team throughout the Sport’s season. This person will be the main contact for the team (unless an alternate is chosen).

NOTE: Any manager/coach, who manages/coaches for HYSL and also manages/coaches for a non-HYSL
program/team, has first responsibility to HYSL. If the manager/coach misses games or practices because of other program/team commitments non-HYSL), the manager/coach will be suspended.

Another big responsility of the team manager is the return of the HYSL supplied team equipment and equipment bag. At the end of each season of play it is up to the team manager to return these items to the league VP or Commissioner.

Coaches are entrusted with the important responsibility of providing an enjoyable, healthful youth sports experience. Coaches are role models, and are held accountable to a code of behavior that keeps youth sports in proper perspective. To assist with this vital undertaking, the Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreation provides a coaches clinic. The clinic covers topics such as coaching philosophy, sports psychology, legal matters, first aid, health and much more. There is no cost for this clinic.

A coach’s certification is valid for three years, at which time the coach must be re-certified.
