The Mckeesport Daily News League concluded its eighty-ninth season of play while holding the annual, season ending Celebration of Excellence Awards Ceremony last night in West Mifflin.

The event began with the presentation of the playoff championship trophy to South Park, who defeated the regular season winners, the Railyard Grill Snappers in the final series on the year. After several thank you speeches were delivered, and other special recognitions given out, the sold out gathering was treated to highlights of the top ten moments of the year as selected by  the league's media partners.

 

The night's festivities concluded with the presentation of the 2017 All-Star team as the increasingly racous crowd came to their feet when the announcement of the twelve honored players began. The following results of the voting was as exciting and hotly contested as the action on the field this summer with no unanimous team selections and an unprecedented thirty-three different players receiving two or more votes.
