Tennis Etiquette

1. Never walk on a court when point is in play.

2. Call a "let" loudly whenever a hindrance occurs on the court that might cause injury.

3. Return stray balls from adjoining court after their play is completed.

4. When your opponent faults on his/her first serve, do not hit the ball back or go after the ball (unless it's a hazard).

5. If your opponent is ready to second serve, try to not hit the first ball back. Wait until play is over.

7. If your opponent is disturbed between first and second serves, allow first serve.

7. If you cannot determine if the ball landed in play or not, you must give your opponent the advantage in the call. The receiver makes the call. Do not challenge.

8. The server should always call the score loudly just before serving so the opponents can hear the call. The server's score is called out first.  Always play to the server's pace.

9. If you have booked your time and the previous players are ending a game when you arrive, let them finish before you begin. (Cypress Lakes Tennis Club recommendation.)

10. Talking on court should be kept to a minimum during play or when other court is in use.
