John Betz Scholarship

John Betz was an active member of the RRBL community for many years. Over the years, John was involved with the RRBL in various capacities; he was a parent, a coach and a board member. He was able to see things from different perspectives and was always focused on what was best for the players. He wanted to ensure the vision of RRBL stayed true to the players; helping players learn the game, develop skills and have fun while doing it. John believed that baseball was not just about the game, but was about helping players develop life-long skills.
John was a husband and a father of 3 boys. All of his son’s played with RRBL at some point in their baseball career. John lost his battle with cancer on May 4, 2017.
This scholarship is an honor for our family. We are so grateful that the John Betz Scholarship will allow players to apply for funds that would be used towards furthering their academic, vocational or military careers.

John Betz Memorial Scholarship Fund minimum requirements:

Played at least 4 seasons (2 years) in RRBL.

Have at least one letter of recommendation.

Submit an essay answering how has RRBL affected your life and your future aspirations?
- Current high school graduating senior with a minimum GPA of 3.2
