"Adopt a Vet" Program

If you've ever been hospitalized, you know the loneliness and depression you can experience. Think how tough it must be for hospitalized senior veterans, especially those who are far from home or have no family.
With that thought in mind, Barstow Community Football has teamed up with Akima Logistics Services, LLC to adopt senior veterans from our Barstow Veterans Home to visit our home football games, as our guests. The veterans receive free food and drinks from our sponsor (PACE SERVICES) and are publicly recognized for their service.
Our Veterans have special seating provided to them on the 50 yard line to watch the game. Super Bowl Player Chris Hayes from the 1996 Green Bay Packers comes by as a special guess to greet and visit our Vets when time permits. Our youth players present a signed photo of our teams to our veterans for them to take back to their rooms.
We want to let our Senior Vets know that they have a "family" near them that cares. We believe that our Senior Veterans are real HEROS and we thank them for the many freedoms that we enjoy.
Barstow Community Football has all of our Armed Services Flags flying high for our Vets to enjoy. Our coaches and players are putting a program together to visit our Heroes at the Veterans Home during our season.
We thank AKIMA Logistics Services and Christopher Oswalt for working with Chris Hayes and Barstow Community Football in supporting our Senior Veterans. America's true SUPERHEROS!
